Does anyone know how PIDs work?

I'd try setting both C1 and C2 to your target temperature, with T1 and T2 both set to 9999. I "think" that should behave as if it's a dead-basic PID, being told to control at your target temperature from the outset, but it has to be said: the manual I found online is properly dog-toffee.

A comparison of your manual with the one for the Omega CN7800VR might prove instructive: chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/viewer.html?pdfurl=https%3A%2F%2Fassets.omega.com%2Fmanuals%2FM4437.pdf&clen=1162611&chunk=true

That 9999 'hack' might be the answer!!! I'll give it a go!!!!!

Appreciate the idea but no dice!!! I tried 9999 for T1 and the target temp just went up incredibly slowly (I guess it would have taken 166 hours!!!). I also tried 0000 but this instantly went to STOP.

Hmm FYI I didn't set C1 to Target since the manual/instructions are very clear that C1 is the Current Minimum Temperature (currently set to 1 since it's in a freezing cold shed!)
