I believe i was frauded.

He received my package on 01-06-2004, and i still dont' have anything from him. He also cashed my $50 check too. Once a few more days goes by I'm going to make a nice trip to Miami Dade County to take a warrant for this joker. Let me know if you know him or have had bad dealings with him.

Unless I post that I got anything from him, don't buy from him. At this point he is refusing to give me a tracking number, return phone calls, emails, IMs, or anything.

I don't even know where he got my email address from. But he is lurking on one of the boards I am on. BEWARE!

He took my Al mar Sere Operator and a $50 check.
 
Basicly on Jan 02 2004 I shipped this person an Al Mar SERE Operator S30V and a $50 personal check. The deal was he was supposed to at the same time ship me a particular Microtech.

I spoke to him on the phone and through email and IM (aol: scibrad).

I sent the items, via FedEx Ground, which does have a tracking number...and he received them on Jan. 06, 2004. Signed by "B. RICK" according to FedEx's website.

He sent me an email saying he was very happy. I asked him where my knife was, and he said that since he had been screwed in the past, he was waiting to receive my shipment prior to shipping his knife out to me. Even though this was different from our original agreement to ship simultaneously, I was ok with this. A bit upset, but said, fine, I have patience, I'll wait.

He originally had told me that he lives in an apt complex, and that he always uses UPS. On 1-6-04 and 1-8-04 I sent him emails asking for a tracking number. on 1-19-04 I confirmed with my bank that the $50 check had went through.

On an IM he stated that he had sent it with USPS and that I should receive the package at the latest on 1-19-04, and of course to this date (01-22-04 last shipping date) I have no package, and he is not responding to calls, emails, IMs, or anything.

I'll keep updating this as this goes on. I will take a warrant for his arrest for fraud eventually. Funny that people will rip off even a police officer these days. Really sad. Really sad that someone on the forums did this. I don't know which forum though.
 
well...since you have send him some knives you do have his adress? Can Fedex track his adress?

Well, I have his address, a phone number, email address, which is also his AOL screenname.

Unfortunatly, I never bothered to ask him what forum he saw my ad on. Its either here or Thehighroad, or maybe Usual Suspects... I don't know...but I figured I'd share the info.

The jerk has my Al Mar SERE operator, and has taken my $50. Well, I guess I'll take a warrant asap when I get all my stuff together. Hopefully I won't have to actually drive to miami, I'll try to take the warrant in Federal court.

Unfortunate thing is, I talked to him on the phone, seamed like a nice guy, and he sent me pictures of his knives. My mistake, as a police officer I should know better than to "trust" people.

Update on 1-25-04:
Well. He still will not contact me. He will not accept phone calls (he has a sprint pcs phone) or emails or IMs. He received the item on the 1-6-04 (fedex tracking #045726066436) and he cashed my check (written out to a Bill Basden) on 1-16-04. Once I get all my stuff together and locate him, I'll take a warrant for his arrest, and we'll figure out who all he has frauded over time.

HOW BOUT IF I JUST GO TO MIAMI ON VACATION..BOOK IN AT THE RADDISON THEN GO FIND THIS CHOAD AND PHUCK HIM UP THE ASS WITH A 2X4 FOR YA....? BESIDES IM BORED AND ITS TOO COLD IN MICHIGAN AND LEOS SHOULD NOT GET SCREWED...THEY WORK TOO HARD FOR TOO FEW BUCKS TO GET RIPPED!
 
Ok, final result was after getting the Miami-Dade County Sheriff's Office Involved, and the FBI's internet fraud complaint center involved, and my local county jurisdiction. They kept calling him and sending him emails, finally he overnighted a very used al mar sere operator back and a check for the full amount.

The name on the check was:
William Vasden

Not Basden.

So make sure you do not trade with this person. He screwed me for two months, and finally after getting federal agents involved decided to send me my stuff. Terrible. And on top of that my Al Mar was used.

Sorry to read that you got burned by that POS.:mad:. Have you received your canceled check back and taken a look at it? If the name on the check was wrong, and he changed it, that would be forgery...Go after him for that if you can.
 
:grumpy: Recon Tech I am very sorry to hear that you got scammed by such a POS. I do however want to say that I have been doing deals with the people on this forum for a very long time and I have yet to get shafted by anyone here with a long posting history. The guys here are some of the best people I have ever known and I would hate to see you go away with the idea that trading with most of us on Blade Forums is nothing but a crap shoot. It is my hope that a brother officer lurks on this forum from Dade county who can make life miserable for that scumbag since merely returning your property after it was well used is totally unacceptable.
