I wouldn't call California an anti-knife state. The only restrictions are on automatics over 2" and balisongs. All other folders may be carried concealed or open with no restrictions on blade length. Fixed blades of any length need to be open carried though. It's not the best knife law state but it's hardly the worst and not really worthy of being called anti-knife.
Most people in L.A. proper wonder why anyone carries a knive unless you are a gang memeber of outlaw biker.
Most people don't understand why someone needs a knife carried with them. That's the only reason I say what I said. Not because of the laws. But because of the attitude.
Plaza Cutlery is talking about doing a couple shows this year and next. I hear ya about living here and knifes and guns. I like to carry a fixed blade when I can just to "remind" people, carrying a knife is NOT a crime.
