I purchased mine at Sears shortly after the movie Congo was released in theaters back in the mid 1990s. If my memory serves me correctly, they even did some promotions where Sears sent display items to various theaters to encourage movie goers to shop at their local Sears where they could purchase the tent as the latest, "must have item". I still own it, and works just as well as the day I purchased it, but my spouse made me buy a bigger one citing she didn't like how small it was. Other companies like Coleman for example have really made improvements upon the original design (like better zippers, better water proofing, etc). Not all pop up tents are created equal, so for best results, a gal named Liz who has the YouTube Channel Camping Guidance rates seven different pop up tents she purchased all with her own money so you can make an educated purchase, and not end up with buyers remorse. Hope this helps.
