Does any body know where I can buy a 4 1/2 inch drive wheel with a 3/4 inch shaft hole ? It has to be 2 1/4 inches wide. Thanks, Larry

Why do the specs need to be so exact? A wider wheel would not work? Neither 4" or 5" will not work? More details on the application would be helpful.

I have a four inch drive wheel but I would like to achieve 4000 surface feet per minute with a 4 1/2 wheel. I could use a 5 inch wheel but will lose some torque and spin a little too fast. I have decided to get a 5 inch and turn it down to 4 1/2 on a friends lathe. Thanks, Larry

That's what I was going to recommend. Is this direct drive or pulley setup?

My setup is pulleys and jackshaft...typical KMG 2 hp variable set up. I need more than 3600 sfm but do want to lose much power for tapering tangs and flattening bar stock against the platen. In my mind a 4 1/2 drive wheel would produce about 4000 sfm or about 10% more speed than I currently have. I have ordered a 5 inch drive wheel and will try it first before turning it down to 4 1/2. Thanks, Larry

it might work out just fine without turning it down.
