Does anyone use a blog? Looking for effective ways to share images and such

Well, I just started a blog today at the insistence of my daughter. I already have my own website and I am on farce-book. What the hey..... A blog might be a way to pass along some info on how I do things without taking up this forum's bandwidth.

I just put a link to it in my signature. I wish someone would make a post there just so I know it works.

If it doesn't work out, then I can always delete everything and start over.

Robert

Just left a comment for you. Site looks good, comments seem to work!

I am neither a blogger or Facebook person but I use both for business.

FB is OK for keeping in touch with customers since they can be updated on your changes easily but FB doesn't get searched like blogs do. In fact I've never once found anything in a search that brought me to a FB page.

For blogging I chose Blogger simply because Google owns it and they definitely show preference in searches even if they won't admit it.

Thanks for the input everyone.
I guess I haven't been paying enough attention these days to stuff like facebook, blogs and that sort of thing.
I am familiar with the forum/message board format so that is the way I decided to go.
Tryppyr was a big help to me getting things started.

My main goal was to make a site that would be informational and interactive.
I also wanted to put together a Knife Makers directory where the knife makers could input their own information and photos.

Right now I have the basic structure put together.
I still need to work on the cosmetics such as the header.

Hey Mark,

You are my marketing hero...never resting on your laurels! Say, might be a good idea to turn the words burlsource.info into a link on the store sight. I had to cut and paste to get to the site, as I didn't see a link to it?! Anyway, I just registered and now have another site I'll be trying to keep up with.

All the best, Phil

PS -- Thanks for all the extras in my last order. It was like receiving a birthday present!

PPS -- If you figure Facebook out, let us know and try to explain it to us. I can't make any sense out of it. I keep thinking it must be sort of like a forum, but with no real theme, but that doesn't quite seem to explain it either. I know a guy who said it did wonders for his business though. To hear him tell it, once he joined a couple of groups related to what he does he started getting orders from (literally) all over the place!
