I can't even visualize how someone would go about opening a Spyderco slowly, one handed, with their thumb and index finger on opposite sides of the Spyderhole simultaneously.
The m390 para2 I own does what you describe, once the detent breaks its almost "loose." Take your time and train the thumb or tighten the pivot as you suggested. My Tuff can be slowly spydie dropped with controlled speed due to handle weight.

That's odd. Your fingers must work much differently than mine. I tried what you are saying and it is extremely awkward. I can't imagine that working for anyone but maybe you are double jointed in your fingers or something.. When I open with just my thumb I can do it as slow and controlled as I like. I just stopped typing this to confirm...I just thumb opened my pacific salt in one continuous 20 second long movement. I think you should make a quick video cuz what you are describing just doesn't sound right to me.
