Does anyone watch House?

In the previews for next week they show a guy jam a SOG Twitch into an outlet and then later they show House flicking it open. IIRC House may even try to do the same thing with it. Funny thing is it was still shiny from what I could see. You'd think there would be a big black mark on it.

That and his comment this week about watching Judge Judy just keeps making House cooler and cooler.:thumbup: (Besides the whole drug dependency thing anyway.:o)

I love that show and I love knives. Maybe they should work more knives into that show like Kershaw did with all of Alton Brown's shows on the food network. I say we need more knives on TV!

my satellite crapped out halfway during the most recent episode....

Anybody got it taped - willing to make a copy?

I can pull it off my TIVO as an .avi file. You could watch on your computer. If you have highspeed internet access and AIM or Yahoo Messenger I can transfer it to you.

I believe the knife was a SOG Twitch. I also thought that there should have been electrical burn marks on the knife. I am a big fan of the show.

If you should ever miss an episode one can view it at greatstufftv.com

Actually, from what I could see in the trailer, it looked to me like he just stuck the blade into 1 side of the outlet. Unless the circuit was completed somehow, by itself, that wouldn't cause a short circuit and therefore no explosion.

Dave is right, without a complete circuit this could not happen. Just more "Hollywood BS". Kinda like a gunfight where a gunman fires 100's of rounds from a 20 or 30 shot magazine.

On the side of the outlet, covered by the wall plate, are a couple of screws that clamp the incoming power wires. If you accidentally bridge those two screws you loose part of your blade. Sometimes you weld your blade to the screws...not that I've ever done something like that:rolleyes:

I lost interest in the show early on, the wife is hooked big time. Why does the staff continue to argue with House, he's always right, just let him make the call and everyone would have a nice day:D. I know...it wouldn't be much of a show without the continual disagreements:yawn: I still watch it occasionally.

I'm sorry, but if you've ever seen Hugh Laurie in Black Adder, it's just impossible to take him seriously as a drug addicted doctor.

i paused the tv and hollered about it, my wife thought i was crazy. then i went and got my blink and held it up beside the tv to show her that i'm not crazy, it's a SOG.

Got it - thanks!

Now, which episode has the knife in it?!?

Ok...looked back at the OP....it's in the previews for next week.

Good.....don't hesitate to yell if you miss another one....I always have the episodes.

OH MAN!!! I thought I was the only one to see that. I tivo'ed it and played and replayed and finally realized it was a twitch!

Cool!

I did the exact same thing. My wife already thinks I am nuts. She looked at me crosswise until i pulled out the laptop and showed her a pic on Sog's website.

Take that woman!!!!!

Jeff Clark,

The two screws on each side of a duplex outlet are the same - one side is the 'Hot', the other is the 'Neutral'. They are generally used to continue that circuit to another duplex outlet. Besides, most hospital outlets are GFCI protected, meaning that any real harmful levels of current that pass through the 'Hot' lead and do not come back through the 'Neutral', such as through House to a grounded item, will trip that circuit (Turn it off!).

Best prior use of a pocket knife on House? After too many tricks being played on him by House, his friend, Wilson - the Oncologist, cut partially through his cane, causing him to be dumped on the floor. I think Wilson would have a SAK with the saw blade... conjecture, of course. Cutty, House's boss, is a dish! I can't believe H.L. was on 'Black Adder'... now I have to catch one of those!

I agree, however if he contacted the hot (L1) line and then touched a ground it would blow too.

I love the show, but House uses his cane on the wrong side. I know this from my experience of dealing with two hip surgeries and a hip replacement.

Best regards,
