Does Endura/Delica Wave tear up pocket?

Hey, does the Endura Wave tear up your pocket like the Emersons do? I haven't used a Wave a lot since they first came out and I remember that little hook tore up my pockets pretty badly. I notice the wave on the Spydercos isn't as sharp as the Emerson one I remember. Has this totally eliminated the pocket tearing or just slowed it down a little?

I didn't use my Endura Wave all that much, but it didn't seem to stress the pocket at all, unlike the Emersons, that I can feel ripping at the seam.

Yeah, my waved Endura does tear up my pocket abit (mostly docker style pants and BDU pants).

The wave style opener is going to eventually tear up your pants lining if you use it enough. The design on the Spyderco isn't terrible but with alot of use you will see some wear. There is no way around it.

I have never been a fan of the wave opener but I got a waved fully serrated delica recently and I have to admit that I really like it.

No wear from my Delica Wave. The Spyderco implementation of the Wave is rather smooth compared to say the CS Ti-Lite. The Ti-Lite relies on friction/grip between the quillion and pocket seam. The Delica, on the other hand, uses a smooth hook.

I know it's not good for my jeans or pants, but so far it's not hardly any worse then other clip knives.

If you yank it out each time it will tear your pocket, but it really doesn't take that much force to deploy. I would say it puts about as much wear on your pants as the pocket clip does.

I carry and practice with Endura and Delica Wave daily.. I have never had a problem with them doing damage to my pants, unlike the Cold Steel Ti-lite... If your Endura/Delica is doing damage, you can bend the pocket clip out just alitte bit, AND I DO MEAN A LITTLE BIT... I works great...

Thanks. It sounds like the wear will happen - just a lot slower. I get wear from pocket clips anyway - hell, I get wear from reaching into my other pocket with my wristwatch on my wrist. Sounds like it's way better than the Wave used to be. Thanks.

After two+ years of EDC'ing a waved Endura, the only wear I notice (barely, mind you) is the inner seam of denim (on a couple pairs of pants)looks a tad bit 'fluffier'. I always wear jeans, and carry the knife on the crotch side of the pocket, if that matters. No tears, nothing to make me think twice about using it. YMMV.
