Hi everyone. I was wondering if the new Gerber GatorJaw has a can opener. I hope no multi-tool manufacturer would be stupid enough to leave such an obvious implement of of a multitool, but I figure it wouldn't hurt to ask. (After all, Leatherman did it!) Any other information in regards to the GatorJaw would be welcome as well. Thank you!

I believe the GatorJaw is now being called "Legend". The description at www.knifecenter.com lists "can opener" in the text, but I sure can't see it in the picture: HTTP://store.knifecenter.com/pgi-Product%20Spec?GB8239

Also, no evidence of a can opener in the description and pictures at www.equipped.com: http://equipped.com/shot00.htm

I agree with you. A can opener is pretty important, as is an awl. The absence of either of these will make me re-think buying the tool.

I have one. It does not have a can opener. It does have a bottle opener but not a can opener. To be honest with you I am dissapointed with the Legend. I was really excited about it. The concept was a great idea, but Gerber dropped the ball. The tools are too short. While Gerber advertises "no clumping", you sometimes have to open one tool to get to another one. I also dont like the tools it has on it. No awl and no can opener?! Also just one combo edge blade?! Could have been a winner, but falls a little short in my opinion.

Thank you, gentlemen. I am sorry to hear Gerber comitted themselves to such poor design. The idea of a renewable wire cutting surface is fairly innovative, but leaving the can opener off is absolutely ridiculous!
