Does it bother you if your knife blade becomes little off center after a while?

Funny thing about Sebenza 21's that I have noticed. You can take the screw out of the pivot (leaving the pivot in place) and you still won't have any blade play. Kinda cool.

Same thing with my 950 Rift.

I don't mind a little off centerness. So long as they open smooth and cut efficiently I'm happy.

Some knives will go off center if you carry them in your back pocket and sit on them. My Endura to name one. Then I found I could grasp the knife between my index fingers and thumbs and "bend" it back to center. Once I discovered that all the knives I swore were centered when I bought them... I just bent them back.

It doesn't bother me if it doesn't effect performance. But I will notice it. My sebenza always seems to be centered though.

If the blade is centered when you first get the knife, but than becomes a little off center after a while, without any blade rub, does this bother you?
I have a PM2, and I loosened up one of the pivot screws to make for an easier deployment, but looks like it threw the centering off a little.

Update: I tightened the pivot screw that I had loosened. The reason I loosened the pivot screw in the first place was so I could flip the blade open. I realize now that I don't like to flip blades open so I tightened back up the pivot screw and the blade is now centered again. :D

Centered when I receive it from the factory.

I tweek it or just disasemble it.
Now its off center.

Knifes fault....Yeah sure it is.

As long as it does not hit the liners. IDC

I have a PM2 that came off center. A few months later after I took it apart to clean and lube ; I reassembled it and it centered the blade!

Not at all. With that said, when a knife of mine does start to lose it's center, I usually completely disassemble, clean, lubricate properly, reassemble, and tune. If excessive wear is visible, the washers will also be replaced. In almost all cases, this fixes the issue or at least mostly corrects it.

IMO if centering or blade play is something someone absolutely hates, the Chris Reeve Sebenza is the knife made for them. A quarter-century from now, a Seb purchased today and used daily since will most likely still be within 100% factory spec because of the ridiculously small tolerances they use in manufacturing.

yes. it bothers me a bit but not as much as the point coming off center. i had to reprofile my knife at least 3-4 times to get it back center. but its perfect now.
