does Kershaws warranty cover stupid?

Morgan from Kershaw just replied to my e mail...........Send it to us and we'll replace the blade free of charge was the gist of the e mail.......Talk about AWESOME customer service, I don't think I'll have use for another brands knives ever!!!
As far as repairing the blade I am concerned that if it got hot enough to melt the steel, it got hot enough to burn the temper out of it too. Thanks to all that responded, good people here at BladeForums.com!!

Johnnyvegas, I can say that I did a similar thing, in that I stupidly broke the tip of my Blackout.
I emailed Kershaw and asked if they would send me a blade and how much $ would it cost. They emailed me back and said they didn't send out blades but if I would send it in they would take care of it for me.
Five days after I sent it in I got back a brand new knife ! It's two years later and I still can't say enough about Kershaws customer service and the high quality knives they build.
Btw searching for Kershaw on line brought me to Blade Fourms and the Kershaw sub forum and I now own several Kershaw knives. But I still havent found the perfect edc. Although the new ZT 0350 could just be it.
RIGHT !
So, watch out its addictive.:D:cool:

Ah, fun with 'lectricity. Back when I was doing electronic engineering stuff, a cow-orker was working on a large test equipment cabinet that essentially housed nothing but power supplies...these supplied enough current to run about a dozen U.U.T.'s (Units Under Test) in an environmental chamber for 72 hours for quality control. Anyway, he had this thing on the bench and was working on it, all hunched over it with his arms down inside (it was about 2-1/2 feet tall). I walked up behind him unobserved, and clapped, just once, loudly. He jumped straight up in air about a foot and a half. I don't believe he even bent his knees. :D

He was not amused. :p Turns out, about half an hour earlier, unbeknownst to me, he had accidently dropped a large screwdriver inside that same cabinet. It landed across the terminals of one of the power supplies, and essentially vaporized where it made contact. Blew it in two. So he was a little hyper-sensitive to loud noises for a little bit. :D

I would take Kershaw up on it.

I would guess that the zone in which the temper would be affected would be fairly shallow though...

KERSHAW ROCKS!!

Got a NEW Cyclone in the mail from Kershaw last week! KAI now has another walking billboard for their knives, I am amazed in this time of apathy in business that one company stands out!

Thanks to Morgan, and KAI customer service!!!!

Great story Riffraff!!!
I got a million of 'em! :D

We used to unplug someone's soldering iron (soldering pencil, actually), and wrap a single loop of thin solder around the three prongs. Then we would almost plug it back in...in actuality, only the third prong, the (NEMA) ground prong was slightly in the socket. With no current flowing in the other two prongs, of course the iron would go cold. The victim would try and solder something, find that his iron was off, look down at the plug and think it had been bumped out of its socket. He would absently plug it back in, whereupon there would be a loud POP!, a bit of smoke, and the bench's breaker would blow as the solder vaporized in a direct 15A short to ground. Great fun.  :p

See I told ya.
Kershaw people are the BEST !!!:thumbup:
Their customer service is excellent ! :)

And I can't recall anyone who's reported a problem here on the forums that they didn't take care of (maybe there have been one or two who refused the offer, but that's certainly beyond Kershaw's control.) A class company, all the way.:thumbup:

I would rather just keep it and mount it in a bit of plastic as a reminder to not take other peoples words for things.
