Does resale value factor into your knife purchases?

You wouldn't like it. The handle is designed for art, it needs a more ergonomic handle design. The spine is rounded so it does not scrape at all, that means the edge needs to be used for scraping and the steel likes to micro chip when you do that with it. The handle is all beat up on it too now. carries light and cuts though so I put up with it.

Damn cheap-ass knives these days.....

Now of course there are going to be a variety of answers, but say you had a choice of the same knife in Sleipner steel or CTS-XHP. Knowing that XHP is a more well known steel and that it'd be an easier resell, would you choose it over Sleipner, even if Sleipner was a little better suited for your purposes?

Sometimes. I'll buy the limited edition for my collection and possible future sale or trade, and the plain Jane s30v version for a working knife if I need one.

I was told sell it, use it, break it, whatever I wanted. So I figured I would see how well it does work. It cuts, so it gets used, just like a $13.00 Schrade would be expected to be used. Does just about as good too.

Holy cow, I wish I was that forward a thinking. That would be awesome.

If it even exists. ;)

Yawn.

Doing work (gasps) peeling some bark for me. That nice thin hollow grind gets in between the wood and bark pretty good.

That doesn't look beat up to me... There aren't any snail trails!

Something smells fishy here... You want $40 for that thing:confused:
