Just got a Para 2 that i had to have because the red/black camo on this Para 2 blew mind when i saw it. Favorite combo of colors for the most part. Anyways it didn't come with with middle screws and standoff. So wondering if Spyderco gives out free screws and standoffs or if somebody had a pair they could send to a brotha in need.:o I'm really hoping that Spyderco will just send replacements though. Have had that does with both Benchmade and Becker. Love this red/black camo scales on this Para 2. Has a alot of side to side play at the moment though i'm hoping just from the missing standoff & screws. Didn't have play like this with other Para's or Milli. Anyways please let me know if you know. Thanks.

Best to give them a call. Most likely you will be able to get them. Maybe not for free but you may be able to get them.

It was there when I dyed it. I promise. :D

LOL. Is that how these came to be they were dyed? These digi red/black scales rock don't they.:devilish: I don't ever remember seeing them around before i saw this knife for sale. Did you dye yours or is there a place where you can buy these?

I dyed yours. Look at the pattern on the digicam. I traded it for an Esee 6, and you must have bought it from them. :D

Given that the camo pattern in his photos appears to be identical to that in yours, the relatively low probability of two PM2's having identical patterns, and the phenomenally low probability of two with the same pattern both being dyed red, I'd bet the farm that the knife you purchased is the same one he dyed.

Why should they be "free"?

Considering the knife costs $130 new and the screws and standoff probably cost $.30 to make i don't know why a company wouldn't offer replacements for free? Benchmade does and so does Becker, sure there are others as well. Not like asking for a blade replacement or something. I know they don't offer that already. Guess i'll give Spyderco a call and see. Thought somebody would know immediately. Hate waiting for customer service to get on the line which is usually 30-45 minutes and didn't want to wait just to be told no. Was hoping somebody has a extra pair they had and i'd pay for shipping if they got them for free too.

I'm not saying they won't send you a set, gratis, but given the size of the company, and the number of ham fisted "knife mechanics" with inflated senses of entitlement out there, I can see why they might not.

Really? Sweet! :D Did not notice had the same pattern.:) Yeah this is probably gonna be a keeper for me need to get all the parts though. Nice job on these!

Poor logic here. Would you expect free headlight bulbs for your car from the dealer?

No. But would be a + and would keep me going back to that same dealer. Thats why I like Benchmade and Becker a ton. They have great warranties. I like Spyderco have 3 at the moment and keeping 2 for sure. Have 26 Benchmades not only cause they have great designs but because I feel very secure to use them to the max or if have a defect from the factory they will take care of it no questions asked. Not trying to start a debate really like Spyderco's knives otherwise wouldnt be here . But if Spyderco had benchmades warranty i'd have more Spydercos probably. Gotta compete with the competators. I see why some people perfer Spydercos over benchmades warranty or no warranty but getting free parts is a plus from a company in my mind. Ill call them tomarrow and see what happens if I have to pay for the parts so be it.

Why should people expect stuff to be free when someone else has to pay to have it made, pay to have it warehoused and pay to have it shipped? If there's a defect in a product, yes, I expect free repair or replacement but not when a part is lost, worn out or broken in normal use.

As for Benchmade's policy, you actually pay for those freebies anyway. It's assessed in the selling price of the knife. (Just so you know, I also like my Benchmades. I don't expect free stuff from them either.)

While I, on the other hand, currently own over 500 Spydercos because they're great knives from an honorable company and zero Benchmades and have no intention of ever purchasing any.

I emailed Spyderco last week to ask if I could buy a set of replacement screws for my PM2 and they said that they don't actually sell them as sets but that they would send me a set for free. That was the warranty and service department. Not that I have a warranty or anything. I thought that was pretty good service.

If i have to pay for the screws and standoffs thats perfectly fine. If i can even get them. Yeah agree that your paying for Benhcmades services in advance but there pretty much tied price wise with Spyderco i think. I don't have a problem with paying for something i'm at fault for. Just would be nice to get cheap freebies like some other companies do. Not demanding/expecting at all just saying would be nice.

The thread title made me laugh out loud.:p Never to late to join the cult of the butterfly.:D They can chop down tree's fairly easily. Not sure about celery though.:o
And even though it's blasphemy for me i do like Spyderco's compression lock knives and getting my second delica.

Why is it that you feel the need to mention or post pics of other companies products in another manufacturer's forum?

rhetorical question above
