Does Spyderco Make a 3.5" Blade?

I'm looking around at a new knife, really like the Spydercos that I have (a Native III and a waved Endura) and am thinking about a higher-end Spyderco.

I'm especially drawn to the Manix as it looks like a really nice knife, but my state limits me to 3.5" blades or they can be considered a concealed weapon. I'd like to be able to carry the knife all the time and would prefer finding something as close to 3.5" as I can--ideally I'd like something closer to 4", but I don't want to get myself in trouble either.

TIA

the regular manix is about 3 3/4" so its too long for you but there is a mini-manix C101g which is about 3 1/4" so that may work for you

the ocelot c74 is also 3 1/4"

the para-military i 3 3/32" and i prefer it to the mini manix

D'Allara Drop Point ~ C82BK2, R2, Stretch and ATR have 3.5" blade length.
R2, Stretch and ATR are discontinued, but shouldn't be a problem to find.
Also new Stretch CF/zdp-189 is coming out in few months

Both the Para-Millie and the 80mm Manix should be within your state's ridiculous blade limits. I have both and would recommend either for tough work. I prefer the Para for ease of carry, open contruction, and blade shape.

Centofante III or IV. Three inch blade with no choil so it's a full 3 inch edge. It's a "high-end" knife without the "high-end price".

My Dear Friend,

I'm especially drawn to the Manix as it looks like a really nice knife, but my state limits me to 3.5" blades or they can be considered a concealed weapon. You don't specify which state, but for the sake of comparison we'll use mine. :D State law here is fairly specific: anything over a 3.5" blade is considered a weapon IF carried concealed, but ANY length blade may be legally carried openly.

I would first check to see if your state mirrors those sentiments; if this is the case the situation is much easier. Almost universally, "concealed" means just that - out of sight completely and undetectable. For the purposes of a concealed firearm, even so much as the bottom of the holster had best not be visible to be within the law. Applying this same principle to knives, if even so much as the clip is visible, the knife is NOT concealed and any blade length is fair game (which is why there is a Waved Endura riding in my right front pocket as I type this).

If the maximum blade length is 3.5", *period*, you still have options. If you are purposefully seeking a SD blade, I can think of none better than the P'Kal. For general utility/SD use, the Yojimbo (3" blade) is well under the legal length that you specify. The ATR, as previously mentioned, is an excellent choice.

Double-check the law, my friend. You might find that as long as the clip is visible you are within your legal rights to carry a longer blade.

YMMV - I hope this helps.
