recently received an izula 2 and after being inspired by TTD dying his 4 I tried my hand at dying the izzy2 scales a deep red. Color came out great, but the mini spacers that line it up to the izzy handle have begun to peel back signigicantly where I cant get the handle back on.

I used the warm water in bucket method on rit dye package not the boiling for the record. Figured the spacers were machined on not glued, my bad my bad. Whole reason I love the izzy 2 is the scales and now they don't fit....

appreciate any help

Tin.Man,

I can't say yes or no absolutely. Generally speaking they are overly generous with their waranty. IMHO, this comes down to personal responsibility. I'd recommend figuring out how to get it fixed or lumping it.

If you could post up some pics maybe we could take a look and try to help you trouble shoot this. Best of luck getting the Izy 2 back together. The scales really are great.

God bless,
Adam

warranty the scales NO ,I would of forewarned you if I knew you were doing Izula scales ...just buy you some gorilla glue and reglue the spacers

I don't know if the warranty covers this damage or not, but if I'd ruined my own knife by customizing it I wouldn't ask for a replacement.

I'll use a warranty when the knife is at fault, not when I'm at fault.

Good luck getting it fixed up though. If it were me I'd make some wooden handles for it and have something really unique

So YOU decided to mess around and modify the handles, messed them up and want to know if it's covered under warranty ? WOW ...

Well, no, we wouldn't cover such a thing but being that you screwed up and admitted it, send me your mailing address (jeff@eseeknives.com) and we will send you a set of handles. BUT WE DO NOT guarantee a perfect fit.

Just dont dye the Scales with Spacers or use a Sharpie :D

Amazing.

You got lucky, Jeff is running out of time for the year to gain karma credits to make up for all the bad shit he’s done over the past 12 months.

As I said, warranty may or may not cover it, but they are certainly a generous bunch. I am no longer surprised to see ESEE do stuff like this; but I am still impressed each time they do.

God bless,
Adam

You got that right!

If you break your handles, well, yes. Not sure how dying your handles is breaking them though.

Answer was: "If you break your handles, well, yes"

I don't think so, Tony. The question was answered kindly and properly.
