Does the Buck 119’s blade shape (not the handle) make it a good military knife?

Just wondering since I heard Americans in Vietnam used to carry them so I question how fit they’d be for combat role. And the Buck 119 is fixed blade not folder


Every troop carries a blade, it wasn't a Vietnam thing. Its going going on as long as we have been a nation.
 
Unfortunately I’m getting a lot of redx instead of pictures in the old threads. I was hoping he’d post new pictures. He wasn’t one of the regulars.

He dropped the point down to the center line and added a swedge. It ended up very similar to an M1 carbine bayonet profile.
 
Nothing wrong with a 119. But this is better as a fighter. I'd take it over an Applegate, FS or (barely) an M3. It's a Case, not a KaBar or Camillus, but that makes no difference other than to a collector.
