I tried an aegis but sent it back because it was a horror show of blade play. After getting used to Spyderco, BM, and Kershaw, which can all be had at good prices with good materials and bank-vault lockup, I couldn't deal with this and returned the new aegis for a refund. I have a SOG mini-vulcan too which I love, but it also has a little play despite me adjusting the pivot. I'm not sure why SOGs have such a problem with play but I expect its because they usually use teflon washers and plastic handles with lower construction tolerances. I'm not trying to bash SOG, but blade play is a deal breaker for me and I can't imagine buying into another SOG folder any time soon without knowing for sure that the one I'm getting is solid. YMMV---the most important thing is that you personally like the knife in your hand, play or not.
