Dunno about the aegis, but I have a flash 2 that wiggled a bit up and down. I tightened the pivot and got rid of the side to side play. I contacted sog by email, and they said send it in. I'm waiting on its return. If its fixed, I'll be buying an aegis or Trident, as I really like sogs designs and weight (or lack thereof).
there is alot of blade play with sog knives, I just bought a torx tool and tightened it, I just had to be careful not to tighten too much because then the knife wont deploy all the way. once i tightened though it was great! I think it has something to do with that side lock design. I have a sog twitch xl that has no bladeplay that has a back lock on it. i'm just guessing though. but for mr me the knives that had bladeplay were the ageis, trident, and flash all 3 in both mini and regular sizes
Not ALL SOG folders have blade play. It is a problem with their Assisted Open models. And even then some seem to have blade play while others do not. The Seki made SOG Folders with the arc lock system all have ZERO bladeplay.
I have a mini and full-sized Aegis. The full sized I can dial the play out almost all the way. I have had Benchmades with worse play. The mini is rock solid once adjusted. I have a well used Flash II that has play that I cannot get rid of. I have another unused flash II with zero play. So yes, some do and some don't. If you buy a SOG SAT folder and are expecting no blade play you will most likely be disappointed.
But as Ken said, the Seki made arc folders are spot on.
