Does this make you worry?

Seems like a fixed blade that wants to be a folder.

There must be some kind of function for how the handle is cut out like that but I can't figure out what. Also why are those notches cut so deep on the thumb ramp? Other than that, it looks good and I think the blade shape is great.

Looks like an uncomfortable handle with some over-the-top thumb shreddin' cuts on the spine and a built in weak point. What more could you want?

:barf: I'll pass.

Odd.

Not my thing. I like my working knives to be pretty straightforward in their design. I would be curious to hear a review from someone who has used this knife, though.

Here's what the manufacturer has to say:

DESCRIPTION:

The new Whiplash has the kind of dramatic looks that are sure to turn a few heads. But, believe us, this is the kind of Whiplash you want. This bold, military-style fixed-blade knife has a built-in parachute cord lanyard. Pull the tab at the butt of the knife to release the elasticized lanyard, wrap it around your wrist, and you’re good to go. For an even more secure grip, the Whiplash features extra-large thumb notches and an oversized index-finger notch. For hardness and strength, the blade is 8CR14 stainless steel with matte-black PVD coating. Includes sheath for easy carry and storage.

SPECIFICATIONS:
Made in the USA
Steel: 8CR13MOV stainless steel with Titanium carbo nitride, black

Handle: Injection-molded glass-filled nylon overlay with lanyard
Blade Length: 4-1/2 in. (11.4 cm)
Closed Length: N/A; fixed blade
Overall Length: 9 in. (22.8 cm)
Weight: 6.4 oz.

All the best,

- Mike

For that price I can pick up a Becker BK-2 that'll actually keep me alive. That thing looks like it's made by Mattel to impress 13 year old mall ninjas.

To be honest it looks like a cheap chinese knockoff stealing the Kershaw name and selling imitation products.

I can't believe that actually made it's way onto a production line.

:barf:

Sometimes I think designers come up with stuff like that just to justify their salaries... make it seem like they're doing something "innovative". Frankly, I don't understand or like that thing. Why take a reasonably sound design and make it as weak as possible with all those deep, goofy notches?

I'd really like to hear some of the Kershaw guys chime in on this. I don't even think this can be justified as innovative, rather a brain fart that no one noticed.
