Does You Guys Have Weekend Knives ?

We're restricted to max 2 1/2" blade length at my office. That's a bit small for my tastes, so when I get home I switch to something a bit bigger. I have a couple of extra nice knives that I choose from when I go to church.

Sure,

During the week @ work and volunteering at the Kid's school I usually have just a GEC Barlow or DogLeg Jack (recently, as always EDC is subject to change).

On the weekends when its our families turn to care for the Alpacas It's something bigger, A Case Moose in Black G10 or a Buck 307 ...

Food Prep on the weekend is reserved for a GEC Sunfish that I'm trying to develop a natural Patina on.

Of course, if all else fails, a stockman or cattle knife of one size or another will always fit the bill.:cool:

That is the absolute pure truth. And I was actually looking for the "Like" button for your post. I've been on Facebook too much recently...

My public job has a policy against "carrying a wepon"? So I don't carry anything too scarry looking to the non knife people. Fortunatly this is the South and people don't even look at your knife except to say "nice knife"!;)
I carry a Case Trapperlock every evening and off days, along with another of some sort in my back pocket!:p

...I rotate them according to where I'll be.

Some knives are good for going to town, grocery shopping, post office, restaurants etc.

Others more suitable for walks out here in the woods, rural roads, working around the property etc.

I have a similar outlook. I don't have weekend knives per se, but I do have a couple of knives that I tend to use on the weekends more than any other days. I have an ivory handled swayback that I carry to church on Sundays because it's my fancy knife. I have a scout knife that I use when I go to a barbecue. The scout replaced a Victorinox Hiker that I used for a few years. Both knives come in handy because of their bottle openers, and I'm usually one of the more popular people around at these barbecues. :D

I know you and I share love for the stockman pattern, but I've been cheating on her in the past couple weeks. I've got a dogleg jack and a whittler on order.

I picked up a "cheap" Case stockman and trapper, and have been carrying them M-F for work, so I don't have to be paranoid about messing them up. I carry my nicer (I suppose I define as $100+) knives on the weekends.

My fiance and I work hard during the week, and really enjoy our time together on weekends. I've found that leaving my nicer knives to carry on the weekends is such a treat, that it makes the entire weekend more enjoyable. Funny how having a beautiful knife in my pocket makes me appreciate the beautiful woman by my side that much more. :)

I've posted the little engraved Case I carry daily and on the weekends I carry a Henckel trapper in stag or a Moore Maker yellow-handled trapper. I carry these in a little pancake scabbard.

i usually carry a nontraditional knife at work. mainly for utility and ease of use with gloves on. on the weekends and after work i've been carrying a queen whittler lately. but it could be any traditional knife, usually in the size range of 3-1/2" to 4".

I work at an auto parts store and use my knives daily at work. All but one of my co-workers also carry a knife, though as far as I know I'm the only one who carries more than one at a time. Many of our customers are farmers, ranchers, and dairymen, and it's not unusual for them to pull out their own knife to cut a piece of hose, open a package, etc. I've never had anyone make any objections or look at me funny when I take out a knife: they recognize it for what it is, a tool to accomplish the task at hand. On the few occasions they have commented it has been to compliment me on the knife (one customer jokingly told me my knife looked like the one he had recently lost, and asked where I had found it). So I carry larger knives during the week at work - the 2010 forum knife and a Schrade 881 or 8OT - and smaller ones on the weekend - a 33OT and/or a 12OT.

Can't say as the Mods would jump all over me --- traditional only they say. OK (and no I don't carry no Stockman)

I usually have a Pioneer Pruner and a sodbuster on me at work. Off work I usually bump up to a Pioneer Harvester, medium case stockman, a different sodbuster, and my 108OT. Plus whatever happens to be hanging off the belt. When I want a real treat I slip my Kerry Hampton 4.5" Bose Pattern Back Pocket into my left rear pocket also.

Work has a 3" blade limit, but Noone will look at you funny if you pull out a traditional knife. Nw if you were to pull out or have a new fangled clip knife on you they might question you. I carry the same weekday or weekend, but it varies with the mood, normally either a 2009 forum knife, scagle warny fruitport or my KH backpocket. Steven

Weekdays, I am usually carrying, a Case Mini-Trapper or Boker Barlow. Come Friday, I opt for carrying a Case yellow handled Slim Trapper or Jr Sod-buster or a Boker Copperhead. I have more expensive knives but find the form and function of these affordable carbon steeled (besides mini-trapper) knives to meet my needs.

I can be seen in the yard/garden with one of my Mora knives - love these inexpensive knives!

My weekend knives are the same as the ones I use during the week. But I am mostly unemployed although I help my two sons with their business on a part time basis. - Ed J

I sure do. My work allows pocket knives under 3" which given some workplaces, is pretty decent. So during the week it's an SAK and a Delica. Weekend the rotation is still the SAK plus any number of larger Spydercos (Military, Para, Endura) or perhaps a fixed blade if I am in a more outdoors mode. In that case usually just add a fixed blade. That then depends on where outdoors. The more kids and "city" people in the setting, maybe a red or orange handled Mora or small ESEE...or maybe an orange Koster someday. If in the real boonies, not worried too much about appearances.

Weekend knife is what I carry at home all week, different from my work knife! That is usually the knife I post on "What traditional knife are y'all carrying today", but every now and then I cheat and through the work knife on there.

I work in an office so during the week I've usually got a custom one blade slipjoint, or a non custom with two blades in my pocket. On weekends I've got one of those as well plus...WHAT HAPPENS OUTSIDE OF TRADITIONAL...STAYS OUTSIDE TRADITIONAL :D

...it usually has a spyder on it ;):p

Like some, I too work in an office environment, so my Mon-Fri is normally a Case Russlock or Humpback whittler or something of that size. For me, weekends are made for slightly bigger blades (that sounds like a beer ad?). Sunday/church is something in pearl, abalone or some other 'pocket jewerly'. After church - back to the slightly bigger blade. But something is ALWAYS in the pocket.
