UPDATED and REVISED

I carry a small plain sebenza, leatherman micra w/white photon II, and a red and black gerber multi-tool. I occasionally have a 15" Ang Khola or 20" Sirupati khukuri from Himalayan imports in my backpack, and a BM model 42 in my back pocket. Planning on getting a new plain-edge Spydie Native to carry left-handed.

Yes, my wife carries....

She carries on and on about what kind of appliances we could have bought for the price of that custom, then she carries a grudge about it well into the Christmas holiday whilst giving me deadly looks like that Carrie in the Stephen King movie.

Thanx for bringing it up....yeah right

A SAK red Classic.

...And the Glock M26 that I bought her, to match my G27...Now isn't THAT sweet!.

I just bought a Spyderco Civilian and Matriarch; both serrated.

My little wife (5'2") choice the Civilian to carry.

She likes the tip down carry because the hole is on top; clipped inside her purse and because the Civilian is BIGGER.

The tip of her thumb fits in the hole.

She carries either her Spydie Co-Pilot or the pink Cricket I got her for Christmas.
I think the Cricket gets the most remarks from non-knife people.

She was carrying a Micra on her keychain for awhile but we ended up giving it away to family on a trip to Europe. Now she has a Gerber LST in her purse and a SAK Rambler on her keychain, a knife which she likes a lot.

I tried for YEARS to get my wife to carry any sort of knife, to no avail. We were on an commercial airplane and the feature was a video "Hints From Heloise" special, where Heloise suggested carrying a SAK for the scissors, nail file andother handy features.
After that, she said that she would carry one if I got her one. Now she carries a Classic on her keychain. Last Friday at the movies, she broke a nail. I reminded her of the small scissors and nail file she had in her posession and the lightbulb went off in her head. Now if I can just get Heloise to suggest carrying a Sifu....

Sounds like you and I are the minority...

My gf thinks I'm weird because I'm always carrying a couple of knives... one for real use (self defense, big jobs), and a small one for small stuff in front of non-knifers..

I wonder how everyone else got their wives/gf's into knives ???

Tried to slip a small folder into her bag, but the 2-yr old got to it, and that was that. (no blood, whew !)

I do keep a cheap folder in the minivan console, not that she'd ever remeber to use it for anything.

She's used my Rookie to cut meat at a fancy wedding, but called the Opinel I keep in the picnic cooler pocket a "weapon". ????

Funny that, "knife-ness" was not a topic the pastor covered in pre-marital counseling. I forgive her, and love her anyway (as long as I can buy a few a year !).

My wife is a veterinarian. She has carried the same Buck 110 with her on farm calls for over twenty years.

Every so often she brings it home full of blood, mud, or what have you. I clean it up, freshen up the edge and put it back into service. This old boy is indestructible.

I’ve offered her newer, fancier knives but she wants no part of them. She loves the Buck.

She did, however, cast some approving glances at a red Spyderco Ladybug I picked up the other day….I may lose that one soon.

Later,
dan
