to have a deal made, knives boxed and ready to ship and the person change their mind and take a offer they feel is better after you have a done deal.when i say a deal is done and the knife is going to ship on a certain day i feel their is no changing your mind.
all we have in here is our word

don't want to post any names, this person has been a trading friend of mine but just burns me what happened.

IMHO of course... real trading friends don't pull that kind of crap. :)

Exactly!

Unfortunately some people feel that because you're "friends" you'll be more understanding, and think it's okay to do something to you that they would not do to a stranger.

Who needs friends like that

Yea...same thing happened to me...I think the guy saved a whole $7...probably the same guy too...:barf:

it wasn't the fact that i didn't get the trade--hell i make tons of trades--it's the fact that one of the knives in on the deal was to replace a like knife i traded to make a deal on some pipes.i didn't mind trading the one i had because i figured i had another like it coming on this deal.

Yiterp;

You are correct; all we have here is our word, which is our reputation, and if someone backs out of a deal such as yours, that persons reputation as a trader now has a black mark on it.

I think that if you made a deal with someone, you should follow through, even though someone else may make you a better offer, you should be loyal to the original deal.

I sure hope you had a nice 'discussion' with this supposed 'friend' of yours. if he doesn't acknowledge the fact that he did you wrong, you need to give us his forum name, so others can be careful when dealing with him.

We've had people order stuff, get it, and then a week later they're still price hunting. If they come on a better price, they want us to refund them the difference....a week after delivery.

Hi,

Please join the ranks, I shipped 3 knives, a set to Denmark on a Saturday, the guy really wanted them so I put $22 (well € 22) on the airmail insured package and the next day Sunday just before I went by plane to the UK, for a week long training, I received an email saying the deal is off he'll just refuse the package.

I was p.ss.d and told him to accept the package and then send it back to me by registered Insured Airmail because otherwise I had to pay again at least $22 for the returning of the refused package.

He just did that but up until now I'm still waiting for my $22 to be paid back, he promissed it 2 weeks ago and still nothing.

Best Scouting wishes from Holland,

Bagheera

Hey Steve, tough break. If you need a replacement for a traded knife, let me know what it was and I'll see what I can do.
