Dog attack / pepper spray -- need help

8 stitches!! Now I feel guilty :o:D. What kind of mongrel mutt was it??

Without joking, perhaps something like dragon jeans - motorcycle jeans that have a kevlar reinforced weave - they are more for abrasion resistance than penetrating injuries but they may help.

Hope you have a safe return to work.

I was a Husky mix about a 75 pounder. I can't really wear heavy jeans/biker pants when it is really hot. What I really need is another set of eyes in the back of my head.

Jill - Thanks for the explanation. It really is great living in the country. I've seen what packs of feral dogs can do to livestock. You can't be too cautious with unknown dogs.
We now live in a large town in the UK. Our dogs are back in SA with friends. We miss them terribly.

Fighting breeds of dogs like Pit Bulls and Bull Terriers and even overly aggressive dogs, don't tend to last long where I live if the owners don't make an effort to keep them contained.... Dogs that are causing damage to livestock are just shot and killed.

As mentioned, the problem realty is created by careless or neglectful owners.

When I was living on a farm it was standard procedure to shot to kill any stray dog on the understanding that it was better be proactive than have stock injuries or losses later.

We don't just shoot and kill any dog passing through. Most are not going to bother our cattle. There is no leash law in my county and it is illegal to shoot a dog for merely being on your property. They have to be causing damage.
