Well this year is proving to be another hot one. 2nd hottest June & hottest July on record 🤪 Many wild fires on our mountains, and some very close to home to fellow members here on the porch. Pray that they will remain safe.
Just want to show my appreciation for this community & the many great people here.

So, Up for this years GAW is a BNIT #822318 Copperhead Dixie Stockman. Very light user in like new condition.

Very kind Tim :) I wanted to thank you, once again, for nominating me in glennbad glennbad 's Biscuit giveaway a couple of months back, it was a very thoughtful gesture, and I was thrilled with the prize, which sees a lot of pocket time. Good luck everyone, I'm looking forward to seeing all your pics, and will edit one in when I'm not on my phone. Not an entry, but a big thank you :)

Thanks Tim I'm in... if a photo of my recent venture into the wilds of my side yard will suffice.

For a wide variety of reasons travel has been curtailed for me this year. But I'm fortunate to live in an area were nearby walks are a great getaway.

I’m in. Best trip I had this summer was to see the Japanese gardens at the Huntington Library. It’s been on my list awhile. :)

The Huntington Library in San Marino? What a wonderful place.

This weird sun is the result of the wildfires you alluded to.

No trips this summer, though we did take the chance this past weekend to take the ferry into the City. It was encouraging seeing these freighters queuing up for their turn at the docks, I'm tired of seeing low or no status stock alerts.

Great GAW TIM, not an entry for me, I would like to nominate JohnDF JohnDF for his generosity to many porch members, I haven't had much time to travel this year, been to busy building our retirement home on the lake in Oklahoma, here's a sunset cruise picture in Oklahoma looking toward Texas. I had to edit the pic size to upload, it doesn't look good but it sure was fun when it was taken.

Thank you very much for doing this generous giveaway. I'm in! I look forward to seeing everyone's photos.

I just got back from Manhattan a couple weeks ago. My mother is 87, and I hadn't seen her (or traveled anywhere) in two years. It's been a tough time: after staying safe and healthy throughout the pandemic, just when vaccinations were up and Covid cases were down in New York, she badly sprained her ankle and wasn't able to enjoy the "opening-up" between waves. She's doing much better now, able to climb the three flights of stairs to her apartment, but I decided it was time to go up and see her.

We didn't go to any shows or museums, just walked (slowly) around the neighborhood, stopped for coffee or meals at outdoor restaurants, and investigated some really cool little hidden "pocket parks" and gardens. It was a lovely visit.
