Hello everybody,

here is something you might find interesting.
in advance, I apologize for the long read, it is but a reflection on the process. I enjoyed making this knife.
you can always skip to the photos (for which, again, I must apologize - there are many of them, haha, this time, not because I enjoy photography, but because I suck at it).

inspired by the latest events in Europe - and fueled by my neverending quest for organic textures and shapes, this knife was born.

when Milan Mozolic showed me an unfinished blade he forged in W2, elegant, long and strong (27cm long and 7mm thick), the idea which lingered in my mind for a long time took hold - to make a slick, ominous looking, sinister grimm reaper of a knife - you know, the kind that makes people who say 'I don't like knives' want to touch it, wield it, feel the heft of cold steel and dense wood in their puny hands ;)

now, how do you carve the anatomy of an emaciated dog, vertebrae and ribs showing under the skin - without compromising both the aesthetic, flowing lines of the knife - and it's utilitarian nature?

I believe I achieved this.
knife does not feel heavy, handle is comfortable, rounded, without hotspots.
textured surface provides excellent grip (I've spent as much time to texture it as I've spent carving it) and invites you to inspect it - with your fingertips as well as visually.

boxwood is hard, dense, almost unnatural (plastic like) with it's absence of pores - I darkened it with the nitric acid vapor.
bronze guard, carved, patinated, looking old and cold.
brass pin is hidden under boxwood caps.
Milan's blade with a hamon and a slight recurve.
tight sheath sewn in thick, vegetable tanned leather, dyed with black india ink and impregnated with beeswax.
whole knife is about 40cm long (27cm blade, 13cm handle).
handle will fit L/XL hand.

I'm selling this knife for 666USD (+shipping which is about20USD), payment via Paypal.

if you have questions / suggestions, feel free to send me a message.

Stay safe.
Mile

That is an awesome blade , you are using the mark of the beast also as your asking price . Interesting

An inspired and exceedingly well-executed piece. As a woodworker I’m especially impressed by the detail of the boxwood handle. Well done!
