Dogbane Cordage?????

HD, I never tried it as a tinder. I think you are right, it should work - let us know if you try. If I still have a stalk under my truck tool box I will give it a shot too.
 
Are you going to PWYP? If so, I will hook you up with some cordage stuff I am bringing.

I can never go because March thru June is my kidding season and in general what I do during that time is way too labor intensive and complicated to ask anyone else to do.

I can usually only start going on trips after June when they are weaned and all the farmsitter has to do is come in feed and milk the goats.

I pick my dogbane dry, but when I am ready to make cordage I always wet the fibers. They seem to wrap much tighter and lock in place much better. You also get a smoother cordage.

electric fencing 5 strands top 4' lowest 6" off the ground and a low impedance fence charger.
