Dogfather vs Battlerat

I you are on the abuse side then there is nothing to compare with the toughness of SR-77 and if you convex it then there is nothing to stop the DF. That is my humble opinion. I wish though they do an other run of the batle rat I would definately get it, the second market price is outrageous and if I got it at this price point I wouldnt dare go thrashing it.

Everybody wish you well

I got the battle rat with a chuddy bear sheath for what dogfathers are going for with no sheath, it's pretty much the only reason I went for it. I'm still curious as to how it will compare to the dogfather.

I've thought about selling my DFCG a few times. But every time I pick it up I just can't seem to part with it. The combination of the DF's massive SR77 blade and its near-perfect Res-C handle is too much to resist. And while I hear what everyone is saying about the edge-holding ability of SR101, I've also got a Camp Tramp. So I'm not missing the Battle Rat too much.

Edge retention is one thing that sold me on the BR as well. The dogfather went from hair shaving sharp to not being able to shave hair after chopping very little. It still chopped well as it dulled and was functional, but at the end of the test it could barely cut skin in any area except near the choil which wasn't used much.

Yep. S7 doesn't excel at edge-holding. But according to Jerry, its lateral strength is the equal of INFI. And according to Mike Stewart, Jerry wrung every last ounce of S7's edge-holding ability out of his heat treatment when he crafted SR77. So if S7 floats your boat . . . and from a price/performance perspective it certainly floats mine . . . you aren't going beat Jerry's rendition. That's why I've been clamoring for an SR77/Res-C version of the Killa Zilla since the day Jerry first announced it.
