Dogleg Jack BEM: a 7 month review

There is a single blade version but Queen says its 1095 not D2.

That's the Queen "workhorse" line. I've read varying reports on the fit and finish of that line. The BEM knives are top notch in F&F.

I stupidly missed out buying this sometime last year

If ever I see another I will grab it with both hands

That's a good looking one. My newest arrived earlier this week. The dealer said the carved stag bone was made around 2002. It's nice but my BEM is still the best finished (behind the S&M)

Talk about the crown jewels :)

At some point I am going to start to like that Curly Zebra stuff .... haven't yet got round to seeing any in person

Noddy, the Zebra shows a lot of variation from knife to knife and is to be recommended. Here a small lockback in it (3" closed)

Trand, congrats on sourcing that WCSB. Lucky find, mine came years ago from the Bay at a knockdown price. Thanks, Will

Thanks guys. I definitely recommend some the Zebra wood, especially Queen's. It's got golds, oranges, browns, etc. GEC made only some #25s with it but it came out dark and not as colorful as Queen's. Here's one of my #11s. I think it looks good in the pic but it definitely looks better in hand (as does BEM)
