This is my second slip joint and I learned a lot from the first. Even more from this go around. This one came together a little better than the first. I still swear I could hear a gray hair pop out on top of my head when I pinned it all together. Who would have thought that grinding the actual blade would be the least stressful part. I plan to throw this one in my pocket for research and development. :D

Specs:

Blade Steel: CPM 154 CM
Blade Thickness: .103" flat ground
Closed Length: 3 3/4"
Handles: Black Canvas Micarta over White G-10 over Natural Canvas with Fedrawlee shield

Any comments or suggestions are very welcome.

Love it. I think the dark brown micarta gives it a nice relic look. That is an interesting blade profile. Any reasoning behind it? What is the weight of these slip joints? They look pretty hefty since there is a solid back spacer.

Thanks brother. They really aren't that heavy at all. They slip right in the pocket and you don't notice they are there. I don't know about the blade shape. Just a large spear blade very reminiscent of old knives and very versatile.

If that knife is anywhere near mechanically right- and I believe it is. You won't
do much to improve it. Great work.
Ken.

You got the slipjoint fever! Looks great, the handle material combination looks more classic yet modern, love it.

That is a beautiful knife. Looks like something you find in your granddad's nightstand. <---- I mean that as a compliment :D

Simply beautiful lines.

Second slipjoint?!? The F&F looks spot on and it's a great combination of materials. Nice job, look forward to seeing more!

Beautiful pattern, and that looks amazingly well-done! I love the "sandwich" scales. Bravo, sir!

I just do not see a thing that could have been done better. Awesome job.

That's beautiful, Jared. Nice pictures as usual, too.
How thick are the liners? Also 154CM?

Thank you everyone for the kind words and comments.

Ken, yes, it functions as it should. Centered blade with no wobble. Good walk and talk and about a 5-6 on the pull and flush in all three positions. I have been admiring all the slip joints you have been posting lately just hoping that one day I will get there.

Daizee, the liners are 410 stainless at .040" thick.

Beautiful little knife! Love it! Just out of curiousity, Why do so many slip joint knives feature a shield on the scale? I've always wondered that?

gorgeous, jared. the more and more i look at traditional folders, the more i want one. and yours are very nicely designed. great job!

Awesome Jared your on a roll brother, i really like that blade style and the way you sandwiched the different g-10's in the handle.
