dogs and axes

thanks all. It's getting tougher as the hour nears. The worse thing would be to have her suffer (she has bone cancer and it is getting worse).

I always hate to see these type posts..terrible to lose your best bud......My Dixie left me a week before Christmas, not my first nor will it be the last.but always rough, so sorry to hear Coop............

butchesforge - dixie looks like she was a very sweet pup.

it's takes some amount of courage to do this for a dog. friends are friends no matter what and their absence is hard to bear. I think if I had it to do over again, I would in an instance. go in beauty Maggie.

Regarding dogs and axes, here's one that was posted on Vimeo by an axe wielding outdoors kind of fellow that ya'll may have seen. But just in case you haven't, here it is:

Yes DeltaBlade they are Akitas. Male and female, both are six years old and in there prime. I have a special bond with the male(Tuco). It will be a sad day indeed when he is not with me.
Wishing you the best Chris.

Very cool!
I've always wanted an Akita. I'm going to get one someday.
A buddy of mine has a standard poodle and Akita mix. She (willow dog) looks almost just like your second pup.
Thanks BearHunter.
I have been around the breed since the mid 70's. Before you do get one we should talk. They are a bit different, specially those with the better blood lines.
I have a chain link fence to keep them in, but still you may notice that hot wire in the back ground of the second picture.

I've been around quite a few.
We live in the mountains away from anyone or anything but woods, so any dog we have/get has free range to do as it pleases!
Except it has to be in at night ;)
Lots of lions, wolves, bears and such around here.
We let the beagles out by mid morning and they can 'do as they please' all day until dark. They know to have their asses home by then or there's hell to pay.
They use to sometimes stay gone all day, but now their older, lazy and tend to stick around more.

Thanks :)

I can identify with old dogs. I don't get off the porch as much as I used to either. But I can still bury a bone.

Mr Coop and all who said goodbye to their best pal, my heart and prayers go out to you! Mike
