He is my fifth German Shepherd--and I agree with everything you said!!!

:thumbup: for dogs. I can't even begin to express how hard it was to put down my Golden Retriever, RIP Dakota, a couple years ago. I'll always miss him. But I am very excited to be getting a Japanese Akita later this year.

This is the father of the planned litter.

Here are my dogs, Lab/Rottie Mix her name is Dixie. My one Beagle Babe and then there's the other Beagle Daisy.

Yup I hunt with them.

Dixie (old pic with her and the jerkbenza)

Babe is light colored one. Daisy has alot more Ticking. Both come from Blue Tick Beagle Stock. Daisy is Babes Aunt, my Cousin has her mother and her brother. We try to hunt with all 4 of em for bunnies. Sometimes they get over excited and go over run them. Love my beagles

The lab loves birds go figure.

barrabas...those are some good looking buds you've got there.

vret.....very sorry for your loss, one of ours is a Golden, she is the sweetest thing on earth. Looks like you're gonna get a very good Akita, looks like a great sire, I know you've gotta be looking forward to that.....we'll be anxious to see some pics!!

Thank you thunder. I'm looking forward to the Akita very much and am going to meet the breeder a couple weekends from now. No litter yet, but you can certainly count on pics when there is and even more after I bring the little fella home.

Thundermoon thanks for the compliment. They are great buddies. Dogs are a real joy to have.

its really fun hunting with them and seeing them do what they were bred to do. Especially when the beagles start to bay on a rabbit. Babe does more of a long low bay and Daisy has a high pitched excitable bay. The darn lab even wants to get in on it. But she is just goofier than all get out trying to run through Multi-Flower Rose bushes with the beagles...makes a heck of a mess. I didnt know if she'd actually hunt bunnies but she kinda copies her buddies and goes right into it.

Yeah Pit.....we all know you're a cat man, but you really should get you a dog (or two) they would be great to take on your hikes with you and folks would love to see pics of them......if you do, here are a couple of names for you to consider Maisy and maybe "the little terror", Snickers, or something along those lines.

We'll pray for you brother that you come around and can find it in your heart to love a dog!:D

a Dog wakes up---and thinks "what can I do for you"

A Cat wakes up---and thinks "what are you going to do for me"

Dogs have MASTERS

Cats--have STAFF!!!

DOGS RULE!!!

Thanks for the cool link!

Someone is playing a cruel joke, used pitdog's login and posted "dog" pictures. After all he's not a "dog" man you know....I'll bet he's pissed.

I have a beagle myself, and always wanted to take her out rabbiting, but she is a house dog and the wife's baby, so she is a bit spoiled for that.

On another note, my last shift at work we got up at 4am to go cut a beagle out of a wrought iron fence. She was well loved (read: fat) and got scared by the thunderstorm and tried to wriggle under the fence. Her big ole beagle belly had her hung. Got to use the hydraulic cutters to cut the fence. She stood up, wagged her tail, gave us a lick and was on her way. No harm no foul :D

I've got a Rat Terrier, got her when she was about 4 months old and not well cared for. I've always been a big dog guy previously owning German Shepards and a Rottie, I even worked a couple of big dogs in the Army.

But this little girl is the best dog I've ever owned. She is smart, full of energy outside but laid back when inside. Pound for pound you'd be hard pressed to find a better dog. She tips the scales at 10 pounds and I wouldn't trade her for the world!

Oh yeah, her name is "Stinker"... it's a long story!;)
