Does anyone know if there is a state-side distributor for Swedish Firesteels? I bought mine from a company in Canada, the shipping was ridiculous and it took me 2 months to get them, and they were out of stock on the one I wanted.

I love the FireSteel brand, but don't want to go through that again.

I tried and tried to get set up with them and couldn't get them to answer me back. It's like they don't want to do business - and I wanted to order several hundred pieces.

Kershaw has a branded model out now that is the equivalent of the Scout. Pretty inexpensive and works well - I like my Army model though.

i order a couple from bagheera, and got them pretty quickly, and i liked the glow rings he sellls also.

Bagheera recently let me know that he has a little more than a dozen left and doesn't know when he'll be able to get more. I'd e-mail him.

I cast my vote for Bagheera as well. He's the man if you want firesteels.

I got my firesteels from Bagheera, too. Piet's a great guy to do business with.

I contacted the company before the shot show as I was interested in carrying the FireSteel. They said they were working on a deal with a U.S. customer and if it was successful they would be the U.S. distributer. So far I have not heard anything about the FireSteel.
I have E-mailed the company with no response at the present time.

I'd do business with Bagheera as well. In fact, I have. Bought 4 or 5 firesteels from him in the past.

Not only do you get great service. You also are helping out Bagheera's scout troop when you buy through him. It's a win-win situation.

I just ordered 2 firesteels from Piet the other day. My experience was the same as Guyon's. Not only was Piet a great guy to deal with, but I felt even better about the transaction when finding out it was part of a fund raiser for his scouts.

JUST TALKED WITH THE FOLKS AT KERSHAW THIS MORNING AND THEIR FIRE STEEL IS THE REAL DEAL. NOT ON THE WEB SITE YET BUT AVAILABLE. THEY ALSO HAVE A NEW SAW FROM SWEDEN ON THE MARKET THAT HAS NOT MADE IT ON THE SITE YET ALSO. GOT MINE AT THE GUNSHOP. I DID ORDER 2 OF THE LARGER ONES FROM BAHEERA AND HE HAS BEEN GREAT TO DO BUSINESS WITH.

Bagheera is the place. A beaut of a steel :)
A fine person and a most worthy cause. Had mine in a week from my initial email :) :D

Hello GearGoon,

Light-My-Fire Sweden AB is the official name of the company that sells the Firesteels and Maya-Wood etc.

Firesteel is the official name of the flintsteel and they come in the Larger version called Large Military Firesteel and the Smaller Scout Firesteel that has a red plastic thumbpiece while the Military Firesteel has a black thumbpiece.

The prices I saw on the site you mentioned are pretty high as we now a days sell them for fundraising from The Netherlands for $11 (Scout) and $13 (Military) including Priority Airmail which from us normally means between $3 to $5 postage.
We're sold out :) but are thinking of getting a bunch of them for ourselves but will need to get at least 50 to get a decent price.

TOB9595 thanks for the recommandation, it was a pleasure doing business with you and thanks for supporting our fundraiser :D

Best Scouting wishes from Holland,

Bagheera

Bagheera-

If it'll get you closer to your order minimum, you can put me down for a couple. One scout, one military. You can email me or post the particulars here. :)
