Don Fogg pieces in your collections...

I thought it would be fun to do a maker dedicated galery, and to make it interesting, I'd like to propose the following guidelines:

1) The knife must be or have been in your possession.

2) The pic should be yours or one that you commissioned (i.e., not one from Don or a dealer's site).

I went to the 2002 NYS ABS hammer-in. Don had this on his table: $350. Ok, He's reknowned and THAT'S a good price. Sold.

Not my style, though, and a year later I sold it to BladeArt for a hundred more on a trade for a knife that is insignificant. :rolleyes:

Now I wish I didn't..... :(

In addition to your astoundingly good taste in knives (I love Mr. Fogg's work), I couldn't help noticing that interesting little pic in your sig line.

No more of either family, indeed. I've worked for and with the federal government for many decades, and very closely for the last 20 years. I've just had enough. Time for new blood...time for new mistakes and successes.

Coop, let me finish the history on that Fogg.;) I bought it last year after finding out I DIDN'T have pancreatic cancer (just chronic pancreatitis), as a gift to myself...yeah, I paid a heck of a lot more! I've carried it ever since. It's one of my "Holy Grails", and has really only been the only Fogg that I could ever bring myself to carry and use. Awesome performance, by the way.;) Thanks for the early history on it!

I've had probably eight of Don's knives over the years, but I'm down to a cordwrapped Gent's and a cordwrapped Utility, and just sold a Bamboo Tanto a month or so ago. Not including the one I carry now. I'll try to dig up some pics of the ones long gone, if I can find them.

Other then my Fikes collection, Don's knives hold a VERY special place in my collection. They're all gems...I just wish I still had the ones that left the collection.

Can't afford to get one of his, handled a few that my wife's uncle has, but here's
a shot of the fellow I thought might be nice to add to this thread, taken back in
Sept of 2006 at the Ashokan Seminar in upstate NY
