Here's one a lot of people have been after for a long time, never thought I'd ever sell it, but I have a business opportunity I'd like to jump on and need to raise funds.
*Withdrawn* is what its going to take to get this bowie from me, but I assure you, it's worth it, I still believe it's Don's nicest overall bowie, and at over 13" still one of his largest. Among some very fine bowies i've owned and seen from many of the top smiths, this is, and has always been the nicest in my opinion, it is absolutely flawless, and just beautiful, it flows like no other giant bowie i've seen.
Amazing, finely layered 13"+ damascus blade, 350 layers of 1080 and 15N20, spooky sharp with a totally uniform grind and edge, the damascus really shimmers in the light, a mix of a very fine ladder and a loose random towards the spine, blade is differentially tempered. Guard is his famous skulls mosaic, ferrule is also mosaic, handle is a huge, beautiful piece of walrus ivory, its actually an ancient artifact that Don altered only slightly to shape, it still retains the small marks left on it by the ancient human that made and used it as a tool. The ivory has gorgeous color and a very rich, deep shine. There is a single, solid 18k gold pin in the ivory handle. The ivory shows zero shrinkage or cracking and is totally stable.
The bowie comes with and in the largest Bill's zipper case made, black cordura, the case alone is nearly $100.
Price includes insured shipping, if you wish to use PayPal, I'll split the fees with you, (adds $60) however, I will only ship to a confirmed address. Otherwise, a US postal money order is good.
First to email me at ari@thefossilgallery.com and say they'll take it gets this world-class bowie.
Thanks for looking.
Ari
