Here is one Don Hanson made for delivery in Little Rock. It is a unique design camp/bowie with cool fossil walrus I bought from Mark Knapp. During the Fisk Micro show I gave Don artistic license to do with it what he pleased.

Paul Long did the sheath with shark skin inlay.

That is a real nice one. The juncture of ferrule and guard is particularly pleasing to the eye.

Best Regards,

Very nice flow from handle to the blade :) That's a winner!! Do you have pic of the butt *ahem* I meant the pommel ?

that is another sweet one Mark ivory dose not get much better then that. well done Don

Such a great profile and size to hang that stellar ivory on. Love how Paul's sheath color picks up the reddish streaks in the ivory. More great images--Mark, you're becoming a pro with that camera! Such a great package. Major kudos to you and Don both.

Very nice Hanson. Spectacular ivory.
The blade profile, particularly the long up-swing sledge/tip, isn't one you see from him often.
Kinda Persian-ish.

Here is the end, which Don polishes to perfection.

And Jon, as you suspected the other side does not have as much character. It's still nice but doesn't have all the colors. Don made a comment "if only Mother Nature could flip the ivory every couple thousand years, that'd be great" I've put in a request to her but it will take a 10-20,000 years before we find out if my request was granted. I'll let you know.

Damask is dazzling, dizzying the knife a marvel ... I hope that there is still a fossil walrus ivory

Another Little Rock beauty, Mark. You had a great show. I was able to see this before delivery and wanted to hop in my truck with the bowie and leave Don in the dust. Might have strained our great relationship, so I let him keep it. This is custom knife making at its best. Contact a maker you admire, throw in an idea or a special piece of material, and have them run with it. Don's damascus is outstanding, and the blade shape with your ivory makes this one so damn cool. Plus, it melts in your hand.
