Don Hanson III- Damascus/Stag Liner-lock

Thats gorgeous! Did I really need to say that? Excellent colors and patterns and very nice design. Perfect for carry I'd say (or just to have).

Don's folders have a Modern/Traditional beauty all their own.
This Stag and Damascus is a stunner. Great one, Kevin.
John

Yep John, you can always spot a Hanson folder with just a glance. I love how his folders always have such good handle to blade proportions. I fine folder handles often seem to 'over power' their blades.

Elegant, i really love the amber stag.
I am not big fan of pattern welded. But twisted "w" pattern is match well with the amber stag.
DH III is exceptional knifemaker.
That's what i said to Harisson Ford when he came to my place few weeks ago. For his documentary program.
I gave him a West Java traditional golok, he loves it very much and then we discussed about knife... After that we had a dinner and the discussion about knife continued.
I said to him that your country has so many "the world best knifemakers", one of them is Don Hanson III.
Then he wrote in the napkin DH III name, since we don't want to bother the waitress to ask a piece of paper
.

I hope Don tells us if he makes Mr Ford a knife, Don's a pretty modest guy.

Kevin, it's always a pleasure to work with you! This was a very good project.
Thank you all!

Same here Don, our projects are always a pleasure and a rewarding experience.

Thats a beauty. Love the materials used on this one. The twisted Ws pattern is my favorite for a blade under 6". Don did great work on this one. Congrats on your new knife Kevin. I am a bit envious as this is also one of my favorite blade profiles also. Thanks for sharing.
Chris

Hello Chris, yes I agree the similar "'Ws" complement one another.

Wonderful blade shape, stunning stag! Simple and complicated at the same time. The colors and textures are warm and compliment each other so well. Congrats, Kevin and really nice job, Don. I'd be proud to own and show off this one. Coop's shot brings out all of the fine attributes of this knife.

Well said Rob, all the elements came together so nicely here but Don's knives do that.

Again, thanks everyone for taking the time to share your opinions.

Hello!

Kevin, congratulations on a great and classy looking piece! Love every single aspect of it, but Don's stag handling (pun intended) is just over the top imho! ;)

Hope you'll enjoy this beauty for a long time!

Best regards,
Alex

Holy monkey on a stick Kevin, that is a gorgeous folder.:eek::eek:
Love the warm amber color and the dark damascus. Congrats to Don and you and thanks for sharing.

Sick of the mosaic damascus eh? ;) I think sometimes its nice to just have texture instead of the faces although I always struggle with that decision. On my Hanson carry we were gonna go all ladder pattern until at the last second I decided I couldn't live with out the mosaic bolsters!

The more I look, the more I dig this folder. So I thought i'd comment again.

Not sick of the little scary things mosaic, just wanted a change from the first two folders Don made me.
