After a 12 year wait, my name finally came up on one of my most coveted maker’s lists- Mr. Larry Fuegen. Larry’s work, while exquisite, is not cheap. After much deliberation, I have decided to sell another of my prized possessions, a Don Hanson III/Sunfish Forge Bowie.

This particular example of his work is made with 1084 and has a great temper line. It also has mammoth bark ivory scales, 18k gold pins, and a uniquely-patterned damascus guard. While a little smaller, with a 6 ¼“ blade and 10 ¾“ overall, it is a Gent’s Bowie and a wonderful example of one. Also included in the sale is a Bob Schrap sheath that I had made for this knife.

It has seen absolutely no carry or use and is in excellent condition. That said, I had one spot of surface rust that I removed years ago. This left a small imperfection in Don’s wonderful finish. While this is quite hard to see, I believe you can see it in certain lights if you know what you are looking for. Therefore, included in the price is a touch-up of the hand-rubbed finish by Don. The pics do not pick this up, anything that may appear to be imperfections are reflections or dust (the last pic shows a close-up of what the finish really looks like).

Also included are insured shipping within the CONUS as well as Paypal fees. I will ship to other locations, but this will need to be negotiated and details agreed on before purchase.

I am asking $2199 for this fine knife.

I include a 5-day inspection period: If you don’t like the knife for any reason, return it in new condition and I will refund your payment. Return shipping is at the buyer’s expense. Also, original shipping charges and Don’s refinishing work ($150) will not be refunded.

Since I am attempting to thin my collection and raise money for a new knife, there are only a few, specific knives I would consider taking in partial trade (all require additional cash on buyer’s end):

Steve Vorhis Dagger
Other Handmade/Custom Daggers at various price points
CAS knives (various would be considered)
McGinnis Proline Valve
Jeremy Robertson(Calavera Cutlery) El Patron flipper
Shirogorov Neon Ultra Lite
