Don Hanson III - ** WARNING: Hamon Content! **

A very fulfilling story, Joe, and told expertly. I picked up on that not-so-subtle guard and you never once mentioned to notice it. Yes, it is a distinctive plus.

Don asked me privately if I thought the handle was just OK or too large. I gotta tell you I probably let out an audible "nice" as I first held it. More than OK. Just right.

Congrats to all.

Definitely not too long!

We are Knife Knuts -- this is our life's blood. It might not be possible to go 'too long,' at least not without contracting Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

Interesting reading on a wonderful knife.

Beautiful. Both knives and photos.
I Like your leaving the end of the ivory exposed.
And no one makes a hamon dance like Don.

Joe, you really put this story together well and I know everyone will like the photos. I need to make time to take some in progress photos of future projects, speaking of which, I have a couple of large blades in the works for the NYC show coming up soon. Thanks all :D

Coop, I agree. It looks and feels just right to me. The knife balances right in front of the guard. Here is another shot of the guard design (and the other side of the walrus handle).

I think the tapered guard design just gives that illusion. To me, Don nailed it. :)

I keep coming back to this one
Love the shot of you and Don Both justifiably proud

Great pics and great knives!

I really like the splashy look of that top hamon. :)
