Here is the latest big one from Don's shop. As most of you know, Don has been making a lot of slipjoints lately, and it is nice to see a big W2 hamoned ivory piece show up again. When Don sent me his finished images of this, it was titled 'Smokin' Bowie'. Don replies on other work on the forums with 'smokin'!' quite often, so this one is a 'Sunfish Forge Smokin' Bowie'. 10 1/8th-inch blade, 15 1/4-inch OAL, depending on which jagged edge you pick.

Coop always makes them shine!

Hope you enjoy.

Great looking blade with a smokin' cool hamon. Excellent job with the ivory handle, I would have had to grind the points off and ruined the look. Don, of course, nailed it:thumbup:

Love it! That hamon, that ivory, that's Hanson! Great knife...thanks for sharing, Joe.

I'm honestly not sure I like the jagged look of the handle, but my God, that hamon!!! Pure mastery of an extremely complex art! And science! I'm in awe.

LOTS of character there. A fine looking piece. Someone will certainly be thrilled.:thumbup::thumbup:

Awesome knife, love the skull crusher on the handle. :D

I could not let that artifact pass without looking into it's soul....

Smokin'! ;)

Nature's Skullcrusher! Hamonous Differentus. A more pronounced approach to the classic Hanson design.

Love artifact and crazy hamon so I'm down with it :cool::thumbup: Dig that blade shape!

Great detail shot. Thanks Coop! You knew I wanted to see that view!!!

It would be a shame to mess with the natural end of that ivory tusk. So we left it as is!

Thanks for that extra cool shot, Coop!

Joe,

Congratulations, that's a real beauty.

Don did a great job, it looks sharp on both ends.

Thanks for all the compliments! I was wondering how the artifact handle would be received. It has Don's name written all over it.

Jim, I had an older friend who hunted with a 58-caliber muzzleloader and always said it would draw meat from both ends. Might work here.

Thanks Coop for the 'soul' shot! Here is a close up Don sent of the awesome hamon activity.
