Don Hanson Smokin' Bowie

Oh just saw this.. that thing is um, terrifying! Beautiful and straight up mean looking!!! Great piece. Is it yours Joe? For some reason it looks like something Rob Connolly would own. =)

Artifact. Ohh,

I thought someone had broke the handle.

My favorite part of his big bowies is to be so big they are still slim and sleek. "Hansonized"

Really nice

Cliff

"Where there's smoke there's fire." This one is on fire and smoking like crazy! :D Awesome hamon.

Jon, I Wish :( I am very appreciative of the DHIII's I am lucky to own but must admit that I'm green with envy when one like this surfaces. I especially like examples that are a bit off the beaten path. This is one that got away.

With all due respect Rob, it had YOUR name written all over it :)

Congrats to all involved. A very compelling project, to be sure.

what a fantastic Hanson! A little wild hair going on and I like it :)

Rob, I might have another piece of ivory that's "off the beaten path"...

Lorien, I like a little wild hair! :D

With all due respect, this bowie should be named Bowie From Hell, as that hamon dances like the flames of hell and the blade is wicked as hell. I know hell, for I've lived there the past few years, but what I don't know, Don, is why you're spending so much time on those little slipjoints--lol.

Hell of a post man! :D

Slip joints one can carry and use everyday, an stuff...

Thanks man!

You and Jon are correct. I guess it's pretty easy to see what stokes my fire :D This knife hits on all cylinders for me.

I find artifact ivory intriguing. This piece is simultaneously raw and finished, an impressive feat. Another knife I will try to keep track of in case it ever becomes available. In the past I have landed one of the 5 Hanson's I watch out for that live in OPC, other people's collections .

Yup....Don's signature for sure......VERY nice...!

Fantastic. Such an interesting handle treatment and the activity is nicely reflected in the very active hamon.

Rob, I knew you would love this one before it was close to finished. Don gave me some choices for the handle, some not even ivory, but we both agreed when this piece popped out of Don's ivory garden patch, that the aggressive blade profile and smokin' hamon of this blade deserved an aggressive ivory piece like this one to handle it.

We will have to keep the, "If you ever decide to..." dialogue going. :D

Thanks again, everyone!

- Joe
