Don Hanson's Golden Tortuga Folder, Blade 2011

Oh wow Rob! I couldn't wait to see this and its amazing. Its also good to see some oldschool Don meet new school Don if that makes any sense. I haven't seen a carved gold knife in some time and that tortoise is awesome. I wanted a Hanson with tortoise myself!

Amazing work, amazing knife. Congrats both of you!

Rob you have an amazing collection!

Just a superb folder, Rob! Don knocked one out of the park with this special piece. It just blew me away when I first saw it. Gorgeous scales, the carved gold bolsters, aggresive Hanson damascus blade...just a great addition to your collection.

Love it!

That is off the hook my friend. I'm almost ashamed of showing Don my second folder at Blade. No wonder he was straining to keep from laughing at it.

Beautiful work.

Save the best for last? LOL! After I closed my Blade gallery and finalized my show, I got a polite note from Don: What about the gold folder? HUH? OOPS!

I'd let that one get by me. SO I spent the requisite time editing, I sent it to Rob and Don and they both said "It's great", please post.

I suggested otherwise. This folder has too much going for it to be an afterthought in my thread. It stands on its own.

Bravo for this encore!

Robert, your second folder looked fine. Much better than my second folder.

Thanks again, guys!

I had the pleasure of seeing this one in Atlanta as well. Easily on of my all time favorite Don Hanson knives for that matter one of my favorites by any maker. Class all the way!! Rob congratulations on one outstanding knife.

Beautiful folder with some really classy materials. I love tortoise, the problem is exporting/importing it. Well done to all.
