Don`t you guys sleep?

I am just used to daylight savings time by now so it has never really bohtered me but it does make since to wonder how the gov't can just change the time.

You were very close Mr. Fleischer. I live in LaPorte. I don't know if you know whre that is. It's about half an hour from Merriville. It's right next to Michigan City.

thanks and take care

I have heard of LaPorte. I used to date a girl in Michigan City and my current girlfriend has good friends there we visit from time to time. I expect we will be up there soon as they are expecting a little one.

I understand their confusion as well, Uncle. I think it is along the same lines as the indiginous people of this continent not being able to understand "owning" land. The earth does not belong to us -- we belong to it.

Well said Mr. Fleischer. It certainly makes sense.

I am pretty sure I am just quoting or paraprasing, but thanks all the same.

Oh, and please call me Clay. My Dad is Mr. Fleischer.

And I don' think he likes being called that either! LOL

It is amazing the things we try to control that are uncontrolable. I remember watching a Discovery channel program on some sort of bomb test in the Pacific. There was a hurricane headed for the island and they were wondering how the bomb would affect the hurrican. Turns out the hurricane blew out the explosion like a match! Let's you know where the real power is.

I wish I had more specifics on that test. I would like to see that special again...

Sorry Clay. It's just I'm sixteen so not really knowing your age I assume you're my elder and so I just use your last name until told otherwise. Thank you also. Clay is much shorter than your last name.

Sounds like an interesting special. Like you I can't believe how arrogant we can be i treating are environment.

thanks and take care

Just because I am ten years older is no reason to call me Mr.! Are ya trying to make me feel old!?

Clay is alot shorter -- and easier to spell. Fleischer is the old German form for "butcher" so I must come by my knife appreciation honestly.

I think it is importatn to remember that this planet got along just fine before human life came around. And I think it will get along just fine after we are no longer here...

JMHO.

My history teacher once told me not to worry about the environment. He said its just waiting for us to die. It will get wounded enough that we die as a result but then it will be fine because it will be able to regrow without problems. He said its had much worse happen to it and it has always recovered. Weird guy he was but he had some very interesting thoughts. This particular one I agree with--wish I could state it as well as he did. Anyways just a thought.

lets see the dinosaurs ruled this orb for how many 100 million years?

the humans have been here for 75 thousand...

we could nuke the surface and it will be reborn

after all
it used to auto nuke itself...

we are but a shadow on the wind of time

How true. The world got along just fine without the human race and I think it will get along just fine after we find a way to exterminate ourselves. In the entire scheme of things we are not nearly as important as we often believe ourselves to be...yet, we each remain the center of our own personal universes. Strange creatures, these things we call humans.

Well, folks. I live in Finland and we ALSO have the daylight saving -thing. The government isn't as serious as I would like it to be. The only way to control the time is to get a really old watch make the hands spin as fast as you can. I did that when I was 3 and I knew I had invented a time machine, but the government is still doing it (and they're doing it wrong, I bet those people would need instructions with toys).

And back to the topic...I just came home from my friend's place after 11 hours of Hidden & Dangerous. I'll never sleep again.

Do they have a catalog?
Did you know there's a town called "Batman" in Turkey?

Thanks, Bill! I've been lurking here at the HI forum for some time (used to do that at KnifeForums, too). This daylight saving -thing was so outrageous I had to speak up

.

By the way, you discovered one of my less-used nicknames, just like that!

Kemp, I'm glad you decided to hop in and post. If the daylight savings time was the most outlandish thing our government has ever done we would be in very good shape. Maybe yours, too!

Uncle Bill

Agreed, Bill. But as the mink-releasing terrorist-wannabe's say "You gotta start somewhere".
