Donating Blood is GOOD. Donating Platelets is 6 times GOODER!!

Kathryn had her transplant last Thursday. Now we are just waiting and hoping for it to take hold.

Everybody seems to think this is easy for my wife and I because we dealt with this last year. But it isn't.

Smoke and prayers sent your way that Kathryn's transplant takes hold!

How unthinking of people to believe Kathryn's procedure would be easier. The only thing about it that is easier is that you have already experienced this procedure with Elizabeth. But that doesn't mean that the procedure and treatments that follow are any less serious that it was with Elizabeth. Kathryn is NOT Elizabeth. This is a different transplant. There are no guarantees in these situations.

Just feel sorry for those people with or without working brain functions. They know NOT of what they speak.

You and your wife are going to experience the same fears and concerns with Kathryn that you went through when Elizabeth had her procedure this last year. This isn't cookie-cutter transplant 101.

Sheesh - what is wrong with people?

Thank you for the update, Brett.

Little Miss Kathryn came home on 7/13/12. I am so happy. Elizabeth and Kathryn have been playing up a storm.(I do not play Barbie dolls as good as Kathryn.) We still have a long road a head of us. Thank you. Brett

Yippee for Kathryn! I bet Elizabeth was delighted to have her sister home. And true... try as they might, Dads just aren't that good at playing Barbie dolls. It takes a young girl's imagination. But you gave it your best effort, and that is what counts. Elizabeth obviously missed Kathryn, but was happy to play Barbie's with you.

Please continue to keep us posted on Kathryn's progress.

Brett,

I hope all continues to go well with Kathryn. I think of your girls every time I donate platelets. I'm doing another triple donation tomorrow. I love triples.

Kathryn is still doing good. We are going to have their fifth birthday party next Saturday. We are thankful for every day. Brett

Fabulous news, Brett!! Being thankful for every day is the very best you can do. :-) Enjoy their birthday party, as I am sure that they are going to.
