I did this last year (actually Dec. of 2012): http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...ot-Christmas-Sale-Sale-Over-amp-Donation-Made, and it was fun and a success so I'm going to do it again. We are dog lovers in my family, always have been, always will be. I do what I can to support our local Austin Humane Society, which does excellent work for the pups (and other critters): http://www.austinhumanesociety.org/ At the conclusion of this sale, along with the two related sales referenced below, I will donate the total gross proceeds to the AHS. I'll post the receipt here in the thread, to show I kept my commitment and didn't blow it on knives! I ran this by our friendly neighborhood supermod before I did the first one, and he kindly gave me the green light (thanks, Mike). So, make a buy and help the pups!

The related “dog sale” threads are here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...to-the-Dogs-quot-Sale?p=13208989#post13208989 and here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...s-2nd-Annual-quot-Going-to-the-Dogs-quot-Sale

Up for your consideration, we have:

First, a group shot:

Please note: These knives have been sharpened to a nice edge and lightly used. They have some minor blade scratching, rub marks, etc. The carbon knives have patina. I take good care of my knives and generally use them lightly, but these are used knives.

Thanks.

1) GEC Northfield #792213 Workhorse in Blood Red Jig Bone. Nice moderate pull on both blades. No half stops. Sharp and an excellent slicer. I smoothed out the sharp tang and it is now more comfortable in hand and in pocket. I also rounded the spine of the coping blade a bit.

3) Case Medium Stockman in Bermuda Green jigged bone #6318 SS. I lowered the kick on the sheepsfoot and also took a bit off the spine, and it now rides lower and is more comfortable when using the other blades.

Jon, PP received. Thank you.

You are a good man to help the pups once again!

The #15 will be heading your way Tues. AM.

Cheers,

I would like to acknowledge a really wonderful gesture by fellow forum member Twindog (Josey). Josey saw my "dog sale" threads and told me that he doesn't need any knives at the moment but wants to help out anyway. So he sent me a very generous donation for the pups! It will be gratefully included with the total when the sales end and the contribution to AHS is made. In the meantime I'm trying to convince him to take a knife or two in repayment of his generosity!

Andrew

Love doggies and all animals for that matter. Very nice of you to do this.
I'll take this one please

4) Case Humpback Stockman in Pocket Worn Harvest Orange jigged bone #63046 SS. I changed the spey into a nice pen, and the sheepsfoot into a semi-wharnie so it would ride lower. The latter operation intruded a bit on the nail nick, though it still opens just fine.

Brian, thanks for your kind words. Yes, 82brutus (Martin) was just a bit ahead of you on this one.

4) Case Humpback Stockman in Pocket Worn Harvest Orange is SOLD.

Martin, PP received. Thank you.

I will have this knife en route to you Tues. AM.

Andrew

Well, as Brian (mr_badexample) aptly put it, the good folks here never cease to amaze. Martin (82brutus) has given his place on the orange humpback stockman to Brian, and will take the green medium stockman in its place. In addition, Martin even overpaid so as to help the pups a little more!

So....3) Case Medium Stockman in Bermuda Green is now SOLD.

Martin, I will get this one in the mail to you Tues. AM. You are a true gentleman and I appreciate you.

Andrew

And now Brian (mr_badexample) has overpaid for his knife, to give an extra bump to the pups!

I am a little overwhelmed by all the kind words and gestures in this thread. You guys are truly the best.

Andrew

Martin thank you so much for deferring to me. I very much appreciate your kindness. Judging by your generosity noted above I'd say we think very much alike. Kudos for your extra generosity for the pups.

Brian

And now my good-hearted friend Jon (klineh) has decided he didn't pay enough for his knife, so he has sent additional funds for the pups!

Thank you so much, Jon. Your kindness goes on and on.

Andrew

I'd like to get everything sold and the proceeds on to the pups soon, so prices reduced on all remaining items in all 3 "dog sale" threads. That includes the last knife standing here---the pretty #79.

Andrew

1) GEC Northfield #792213 Workhorse in Blood Red Jig Bone is "on hold/deal pending".

Andrew

1) GEC Northfield #792213 Workhorse in Blood Red Jig Bone is now SOLD.

PP received. Thanks, Brian. I'll get this off to you tomorrow AM.

Andrew

All knives in this thread are now sold. Many thanks to all.

I still have a few items for sale in the two related "dog sales threads" mentioned in the OP if anyone is interested.

Andrew

Added 2 knives, Kershaw Indian Ford and Case Mini Blackhorn, transferred from my companion "dog sale" thread, which may be more appropriate here.

I'd like to sell these last 2 and that will be it for all 3 "dog sale" threads! So, I've added a nice combo deal on them.

I can then make the contribution to the Austin Humane Society and post it up for all to see.

Thanks,

Andrew
