Hi all,

I've finally decided that I'm no longer buying sharp knives.

I've spent the last year buying just about every production brand of sharp knife and I have to say that I've yet to find one that worked perfectly and was really worth the risk.

This is probably more a reflection on me than anything else, but I am at the point where I'd rather know for sure that the knife will not cut me if I flip it over, and deal with that limitation, than to put false trust in a sharp knife.

I hope this isn't construed as trolling or being a butt, and I'm not upset with any particular company, it's just that I've finally realized that it's a lost cause.

Bottom line: I really don't need a knife that will really cut if I really want that, I'll use my scissors.

thanks for letting me vent and take care,
Monkeyazz

Start collecting knife trainers. It's like training wheels on a bike, but for knife collectors instead! If you are bold enough, of course. ;)

Knitting needles also aren't sharp, so maybe there is a future there for you as well!

Maybe this will end up in W'n'C?

I call it trolling personally and I don't find it amusing.

As for me I am done with butter knives. I would rather know that if I try to spread butter with a knife it will bend or break and deal with that and avoid spreading butter with it. If I really need to butter toast I can use a pneumatic jackhammer, a tool that's designed for heavy use.

I'm done with knives all together. I found the knife for me in the paint section of the HomoDepOt, its a neat little spatula type knife, perfect for spreading cheeeeeze (which goes well with my whine i might add)

thanks cougar. it's appreciated.

I am done spreading butter. . . I just layer pre-cut pats of butter like floor tiles until the bread is covered. Delicious.

you have to admit just a wee bit that this topic ("done with sharp knives")was too juicy to NOT make fun of.....:D:p

Maybe so but its a bit low and not a sincere post just a way to get personal against someone else and stay within the rules.

We see a lot of that with wise crackers but paint it anyway you want it its still a different way of making a personal attack with always being able to say, but its my opinion. We all know its not.

Butter will clog your arteries and kill you anyway so you should thank the butter knives for turning you off.

I am just a deranged cowboy commenting from the peanut gallery, but I am pretty notoriously intolerant of the whole stoopid idea of folding a knife. People joining in the satire don't necessarily even disagree with you, at least not in the way you think they do....

I see that. Monkeyass has every right to poke fun. No biggie. Low? Yeah. Immature? Yep. Does he have a right to do so, sure.

I think Rat's heading in the right direction, but I gave up on that ages ago, use this instead, no need for knives or heavy equipment.
