Dont forget

I know my wife and I will never forget or forgive. God bless those who protect us and our way of life.

i wouldnt say the worst day in American history but i will say not a very good day at all... and i already made a note to point it out to others!....
I respectfully agree with both Nate and the others.
It is a day we must not forget.

AMEN TO THAT   AMERICA, LOVE IT OR GET OUT! "LET'S ROLL" :)

As I read through these posts, my emotions became so strong that I had to go for a walk and settle them before replying. I do remember where I was and what I was doing when the stuff hit the fan, right down to flipping on CNN after my kids school bus had just left, and sitting in my shorts folding socks while intending to catch up on the news. I saw what I think was the first televised footage of the planes hitting the Towers. I remember the feelings spanning comunity, state, nation, and world. As time past I remember talking to my very young children about what they were seeing on television and learning in school about the ensuing war efforts. One memory that will probably always be with me, is my then 5 year old son sitting next to me on the couch when news footage suddenly showed a mass grave being unearthed in Afghanistan, and he turned to me and asked if "that is real?". It was not easy or fun explaining to him something that I wished didn't exist, something he had no idea that did.
I was a little too old 6 years ago to even think about enlisting and that really bothered me. Then I was able to figure out that I too have an important job to do, and I am proud to do.
I don't forget September 11, 2001. I couldn't, and don't want to.
I pray for, and support, the men and women who are fighting for the right to live in a free society, no matter where in the world that might be.
I pray for, and support, their families left behind while they are so very far away from home.
I will fight at home with my mind and voice for the safety and well being of those, who fight with deadly force, to defend those who desire to live in a free society.

I don't forget September 11, 2001, nor those who have fought, suffered, or perished, to do what is needed, to protect a way of life that I believe so strongly in.
Thanks leatherman for starting this post!!

AMEN ...........

I was at the twin towers that day. I watched, as I stood less than 100 yards from the towers. The second plane hit and a fireball obscured the whole top of the building from our view. I lost friends that day, firemen and people who worked in those buildings. I won't forget, but I can always forgive. Without forgiveness, what is there? I know that forgiveness nmay not be a popular emotion in this context but if we let them steal our humanity then they have already succeeded in destroying the best that we have
Cheers

To all who stand guard against those who wish to do us harm, I sincerely thank you for the safety and security that could not be possible without your sacrifice.

Smoke rising from the east, for those who were injured or lost their lives, those who lost someone that day, those who ran towards the scenes of these horrible attacks while the rest of us ran for our lives, and for all those who stood up and became heroes on 9/11. Thank you also for your sacrifice.

I did have some doubt when I wrote that, but to me personally in my lifetime, it was the worst day. And in the days, weeks, months, and years following the tragedy it did show us how far a person can go to help his fellows. Amazing bravery, and outstanding ability to stick it out till the last remains were recovered, I am still in awe of those who did it, and how far some travelled to help.

My flag flies every day of the year weather permitting, but tomorrow it has even more meaning and symbolisim. I am very proud of my country. :)

Thanks for the responses, and the photo of the three soldiers is so powerful! Actually brought a tear to my eye. Thank you Bill for letting us see it, my thoughts are with you.

Its about the people, I am very happy that my meaning was understood, the emotion I feel when I think and write about it is very deep and I tend to get lost. Thank you all.

If we are to find something good in that day in spite of all the tragedy, perhaps it is that it was, for many people, a sudden awakening to a reality we must confront. This reality being that there are millions and millions of people out there who hate us, and want to destroy everything we've built and enslave us until nothing is left of our way of life. And that they are working hard to achieve their goal every single day, all over the world, and not just by massmurdering innocent women and children, but by means far more sinister and less transparent.

It's going to be a long fight. And it won't be a fight that we can win, unless people really start thinking on their own, and find the courage to accept that we're being lied to about a certain unmentioned group. We're told that the actions of the few do not represent the many, but they do, almost always, they certainly do. When American soldiers put their lives and futures on the line, they do not represent themselves alone - although they are few compared to the full population of America, they, the few, represent the many, which is the American people that do not, and will not submit and throw away the freedoms they have fought long and hard for. In exactly this same way, the actions of certain other groups who seem to be the few among the many still represent the many and their will. Know your enemy.

May the spirits of the dead be at peace on this day. May we remember them.

Well said Dwayne. I looked at my watch yesterday and for some reason my date dial was off by one day. It read 9/11 and it immediately brought back memories of 2001. I will never forget. I promise that. Thanks to all of those serving in our armed forces and other organizations across the globe that find themselves in harm's way.
