Francesco Amatori in Italy ... represents very well the Italian school of engraving to the chisel-In Italy especially in the zone of the construction of the firearms( Gardone Valtrompia,Brescia,)
Salve! MARSUS, ...io credo che Lei conosca pochissimo il mio lavoro ... e credo anche che ... capisca poco di incisione. Vorrei precisarLe che sono di Milano e "non rappresento assolutamente nessun tipo di scuola" ... soprattutto di incisione. La mia professione si occupa di incisione ,e' vero ... ma non solo, mi occupo anche anche di Illustrazione e Design.

Ringrazio anche tutti gli "Appassionati" per le parole gentili che sono scaturite in B.F.
...Vorrei chiudere con una piccola considerazione:
... Credo che ognuno di noi ami e si impegni con il massimo delle forze per cio' che fa nella propria vita, anche se questo a volte crea grandi sofferenze.
Penso che B.F. sia importante come luogo di divulgazione, perhe' permettere di conoscere da vicino ogni sfumatura di questo mondo artistico , spesso sconosciuto.
Detto questo, penso che B.F. sia piu' un luogo di incontro e confronto (tra appassionati) e non sia il luogo ideale per creare " graduatorie" ove stabilire chi sara' il N°1 , 2, 3 ecc. o peggio l'ultimo della classifica.
Penso che sia piu' positivo osservare cio' di cui si viene a conoscenza (spesso per la prima volta) cercando di collocarlo nel contesto esatto,con il massimo rispetto.
Grazie a tutti Voi ed in particolare a Kevin Jones per il suo entusiasmo e la freschezza intellettuale con cui affronta questi argomenti.

I also thank all him "Impassioned" for the kind words that have sprung in B.F.
... I would like to close with a small consideration:
... I believe that each of us loves and you hocks him with the maximum one of the strengths for this' that it does in his/her own life, even if at times this creates great sufferings.
I think that B.F. as place of popularization is important, perhe' to allow to know from near every tone of this artistic world, often unknown.
Says this, I think that B.F. is more' a place of meeting and comparison (among impassioned) and is not the ideal place to create " classifications" where to establish who sara' the N°1, 2, 3 etc. or worse the last of the classification.
I think that I/you/he/she am more' positive to observe this' of which he comes to knowledge (often for the first time) trying to put him/it in the context esatto,con the maximum respect.
Thanks to all of You and particularly to Kevin Jones for his/her enthusiasm and the intellectual freshness with which it faces these matters.

Non credo proprio,oltretutto lei copia spudoratamente M.Torcoli,forse si è offeso perchè non ho detto che lei è il più grande,nel Gardonese ci sono centinaia di incisori al suo livello e anche superiore-Forse Milano non è Italia?Ho conosciuto dall'inizio le sue opere e l'avevo anche apprezzate,conosco e ho usufruito dell'opera dei maggiori incisori Bresciani-Forse si è offeso perchè il thread è stato aperto per le sue opere?Se è così bastava farmelo notare e avrei tolto il tutto,purtroppo non conosco bene l'inglese e non leggo completamente i post-

...Vede, conosco molto bene e personalmente Fracassi, Torcoli, Pedersoli, Galeazzi e tanti altri incisori (di cui sono anche molto amico oltre che estimatore).
Non si tratta di essere Milanesi , Bresciani , Italiani o Americani .
Il vero tema secondo me e' che apparentemente tutti noi ci assomigliamo (l'incisione e' quella , non si scappa)
Ma...fondamentalmente siamo profondamente differenti, per mentalita' , formazione e cultura artistica. Questa e' la differenza sostanziale. Se si osserva attentamente ,e' molto evidente.

... He/she sees, I know very well and personally Dins, Torcoli, Pedersoli, Galeazzi and so many other engravers (of which am also a lot of friend over that estimator).
It doesn't deal with being Milanese, Bresciani, Italian or American.
The true theme according to me and' that all of us apparently resemble there (the incision and' that, he doesn't escape)
But... fundamentally we are deeply different, for mentality', formation and artistic culture. This and' the substantial difference. If it is attentively observed, and' very evident.

La cultura anche quando artistica è uguale per tutti noi italiani e viene da molto lontano,magari ognuno di noi pensa di interpretarla in modo diverso.Anche adesso, nella fattispecie, lei pensa che io abbia cancellato i post perchè me la sono presa invece li ho tolti perchè sicuramente ho fatto una gaffe,non voluta,e con essi toglievo al thread iniziale l'interesse mirato alla sua opera-Comunque anche nell'errore la mia voleva essere una nota di merito al suo lavoro

I was very appreciative of Francesco for sending me images of his beautiful work as I'm very fond of engraving.
Though I had been exposed to a few pieces of his art by David's (DDD) books I was not familiar with them being Francesco's works. So I really enjoyed communicating with him through e-mail and I wanted to share his beautiful work with our community here on Blade Forums. I asked in my opening post for examples of other artist's work so we could perhaps enjoy and benefit from additional images of engraver's works who we my not have been exposed to here.
I don't think it has purpose or even possible to try to name/compare the top three, two or number one engravers as each artist's masterpieces are outstanding but different in style, subject matter and presentation.
Francesco, thank you for your kind words and I was glad to see you join us here and hope you will continue to share your work with us.

Here's a more detailed image of the engraved watch face from the opening post showing the completed watch. I thought we may have some watch collectors here that would enjoy seeing it.
