or

the AL MAR is a bit heavier then what i want for an EDC but i dont like the BM's blade.

RC-3MIL for my day pack
i have an izula and an RC-5 but could always use another Rat knife.

then maybe a day pack like this.

i dunno some input might help me.

I'd go with the Al Mar for the knife of the two. Blade design will make more of a difference than a little weight.

I have a Typhoon gearslinger and I love it. If it were me I'd opt for the Malaga or the Sitka over the Lunada. Depends on what you will be carrying as your EDC gear. I always try to get a bit more capacity than I NEED so that I have room for the occasional incidental extra.

If you wind up looking at a pack with over 1000c.i. capacity the get a regular pack that carries over both shoulders. It is very easy to very uncomfortably overload higher capacity packs.

I have the Monsoon and Sitka gearslingers from Maxpedition. Both are great high quality bags. Having said that, I would agree with wildmike, if you need a lot of gear everyday, get a proper backpack. I use both of mine for to and from work and my Sitka as my primary EDC. It is small enough to be convienent, yet large enough to carry a good load of gear. I can stuff a pair of shoes and a change of clothes in it, plus all the must haves. I spent a long time deciding between it and the Kodiak, but I believe that the Kodiak is too big and too easily overloaded to be comfortable for extended wear.

I have recently come to the conclusion that I need to get a large back pack. I think something that could essentially work on a 3-5 day run.

I would highly recommend the Sitka for an EDC, it is very well thought out and is designed to be easily brought to the front and quickly access anything inside, including a ccw option if you live where that is legal.

Anyway, hope this helps
