dont know where to start

the recon 1 might be a little big for you cause the s&w was big for you but its a great strong knife and the endura 4 is a great knife it just doesnt look to scary lol

Kershaw Blur, ZT0200, Spyderco Manix 2, so many to choose from, not to mention all the great suggestions form above..Welcome to the forum!

Sorry, didn't see the requirements for a 3" blade.....I'm telling you, too much sun today :D

I think I would go for the kershaw leek. it is a good little folder, and is a ton of fun to play with. the only problem is that the clip has a lot of the knife sticking out, and so spend the 30 bucks on a STR lowrider. he is here on the forum.

I'd recommend the Kershaw Leek composite blade. Very fast, slim, has a good steel, excellent build, and made in America.

You could also get the Spyderco Tasman salt if you want something aggressive. With that steel it's better to get a serrated edge, but I'm not sure how well a serrated hawkbill would fit into your EDC role.

Or just ignore the blade length limit and keep a low profile.

i'd go hold a griptilian before buying it. It does feel well when I did but to me the plastic handle looks cheap (it's not cheap but it looks it to me) and I would be disapointed to drop that kind of money on a knife that in my opinion looks like a $15 dollar knife. YMMV

well its really still between the recon 1 and the griptillian. i dont really care if the recon 1 is an inch longer i really really like the looks of it.

but i have a question about it. is the recon 1 an auto open? cause if it is then ill just stick with my SWAT

The Recon 1 is a manually open folder, via thumb-studs.

Don't dismiss Kershaw.

Kershaw has several models in your price range and if assisted opening seems appealing or if you may be interested in a "flipper" then look them up and scroll through the whole list of different models. Knifecenter.com will keep you busy for quite a while when trying to make a choice.

Out of the few Kershaws I have on hand, I think either the Blur or the Shallot would serve you quite well.

Happy hunting!!

My first knife was benchmade 913. But I advise you to buy 551 griptilian. I love this knife.

dont know where to start

Start by reading much and posting little.

im looking for a good carry knife with a 3" blade and dont know where to start looking.
For "under $70", I would recommend a Benchmade Mini-Griptilian.
I would also recommend a Spyderco Delica.
